I don't disagree that all signs point to it being a poorly executed drop that could have had serious consequences for himself or the home owner...the bullseye throw is badass but oddly placed following a near-miss. It was worth while pointing out and I'm glad you did.
I could have just gone...
The guy makes some spare bucks taking big tops and threading the needle, just keep that in mind. You don't have to watch too many of his videos to realize he's a wildman (I use this as a term of endearment). If you're looking for videos on ultra safe, no risk removals you've found the wrong...
Awesome thanks Brocky. I can feel further down where it fattens up a little. I've never had a spliced 16 strand so it caught me off guard to have such a floppy eye.
Old thread but I'm having a hard digesting some of this. I recently bought a 16 strand line and opted to get it spliced since I've never tried a 16 strand splice. I was surprised when I got the rope because the eye was very floppy and I realised that there was no core in the eye section. Is this...

I essentially created a shelf that would pull out and tilt off the back of...
Great description Tom. I always stacked my trailer butts facing the rear thinking it would pull out easier. I'll have to give that technique a go.
I used to tie the brush off to pull it off at the dump. It was perfect because they have these huge steel barricades surrounding the brush pile...
Hey folks,
I've sort of found a niche market in pruning over the last couple of years and do most of my work with a utility trailer, contracting a chipper if the job warrants one.
This year I'm looking at making a few mods to my current utility trailer and am looking for some ideas on raising...
Can you clarify how this is done? Do you center the wire fid a couple of inches down the end of the cover and fold strands through the wire fid from each side?
I'm going to splice some Altas rope and it seems to have a tight cover. Looking for tips to insert the core into a tight jacket.
