    WTB: @height 9 5" tether (short)

I've had good results with the @height 9.5" tether and a 4 wrap micho with 8mm hrc 26-28" home spliced naked eye and a e2e I spliced with ice tail with full overlapping tapers making the diameter larger than the normal 8mm, lets call it 10mm, in the 28 inch range without interference with the...

The best cordage for an SRT ring and ring

I was talking about normal 16 strand splices with no core in the eye. I didn't realize you ment the core was still in the eye. Sorry I missed that. I am interested in how they did a 16 strand eye with core in the eye.

The best cordage for an SRT ring and ring

I learned the 16 strand e 2 e splice from Nick Araya's tree stuff video. The whole core is removed and the buries overlap. The tapers are done so that the diameter is kept consistent after the throat of each splice. Unless you are making a e 2 e in excess of 5 foot long, with no overlap, there...

The best cordage for an SRT ring and ring

Gap does custom splicing and then it would be certified as well. Not a person on treebuzz, but it would get you what you want.

    Throwline or hook?

Teufelberger lists 10mm sirius as 5400 lbs breaking strength. If it breaks that much lower, there is a problem.

    Hitch hiker/2/x thread

A sleeve/bushing that could run the whole way thru might protect the rope from the body. Still would have to have nice smooth rounded edges. Might have less friction at the sharp bend in the cordage.

    Throwline or hook?

Was that your hand sewing? Did the sewing break or the cordage?

    Throwline or hook?

Now I am really curious. Maybe I'll get something spliced up to replace the seqoia bridge, then see what it takes to break it in a straight pull!

    Throwline or hook?

Exactly. They test things and can be held liable if they fail. I can't see them putting out a product that is not reliable (ahem, early model zig zag). I used the sequoia bridge because I had it on hand. Maybe someday I will make a double braid hand spliced e2e that will be stronger and a little...

    Throwline or hook?

I actually never concidered that the petzel e2e might be on the weak side in that config. The stitching looks like shit, always has. The hook is supposed to be non life support, and I might exceed ideal angles for non life support at times, but it will never be shock loaded. 1,000 lbs tensile...

    Throwline or hook?

I might try the screw link! The oval does sometimes cause slight discomfort, but makes for quick change over.

    Throwline or hook?

I'm not sure there is one. In theory, it keeps the biner out of the crotch I am going for. In practice, it sometimes makes it hard to get the biner past the crotch, but not always. I don't want to take it off because they supplied 1 extra "single use" super special lock nut and I used it to put...

    Notch Radius Ring

I've been running a cali for at least 6 months. I never notice the weight, it never smashes my junk, and has not caused excesive bridge wear. I might have used all 3 holes at the same time once or twice for an srt line in the middle and a lanyard going to each side, but that is rare. I use the...

    Negative rigging pry bars

It would hardly be a treebuzz thread without a catastrophic derail. At least no one mentioned goat sex yet.

    Show off them splices

I think a mass producer would make large pockets to accommodate a large variety of objects. Your point of faster production might have something to do with it too. I also make mine as small as possible, customised to the block I intend the sling for.

    Negative rigging pry bars

If your making flat cuts and pushing logs off a spar, when they are getting big and hard to push, make your cut at a slight downward angle towards where you want the log to go. A little bit of angle makes the log slide right off. Too much angle and the log will slide before you push it. It...
