Starting a hedge way too late and with too low of stem-density, is at the very least, an uphill battle.
How much height screens the needed areas?
Is that picture showing the whole height of the row of trees?
Directionality and automaticity are challenges for some people.
Directionality: driver's side versus passenger's side, uphill/ downhill, toward the house/ away from the house.
Automaticity, the ability to do things without thinking them through step by step, sometimes while talking to...
Hedging is different than topping.
Tipping all the branches and vertical reduction is very different than topping.
I've tipped a row of conifers, doug-fir and grand fir to 8-10' for low-branch thickness/ screening and road clearance.
I'll probably hedge some of them to keep low privacy...
I'll trailer the chipper to the jobsite where my mini loader is parked.
Played with my toy.
My neighbor only has a tractor so more of a pusher tool resulting in concrete, soil and debris against a field wire fence (cows). I cleaned up outside to practice, tidy up, and get greater access to...
I broke a blade, somehow. Marthe a hard chunk that was max capacity or something.
Got new blades installed.
I have to install the tongue/ coupler.
Slow to fill the truck and backing up the chipper will be murder!!!
I'm going to tow it around a trail system we cut/ cleared. Invasive holly...
Just popping in on this thread with more after pictures about the resilience of fruit trees. And hollow trees in general.
This will sprout new branches closer to the ground, then I'll whittle the top down in a few years.
Ganoderma
1--2" rind with cavities
I could climb in from the...
I'd buy it.
One storm job and you'll be happy. You may need/ want both grcs and mini.
You can resell it easy.
Mine rides around, ready.
If your mini is down for repair, you have a good tool. If your mini gets stuck or tipped, you have a helping tool.
Seems that hanging the bracket to set...
15 new mats.
I think that's bringing it up to about 200 feet end to end of mats. 100' worth for trucks/ chippers.
Infrequently needed, priceless when needed.
Happened across this pic for datafarm
only climbed this tree a little bit ago far. The camera shrinks the width. 4'+ without measuring. I don't think barely, either. I was killing ivy on t e o little trees at a 15 year customers place.
Got a look at brittle cinder fungus and ganoderma...
If I had any spare time and need, I'd have more cnc-cut, laser engraved "cards " made.
This is about 3x5 inch, bigleaf maple.
1/8" thick maybe, off my sawmill.
