only climbed this tree a little bit ago far. The camera shrinks the width. 4'+ without measuring. I don't think barely, either. I was killing ivy on t e o little trees at a 15 year customers place.

Got a look at brittle cinder fungus and ganoderma on their large maple over small primaries and a large shed. Terribly steep and tight driveway. Might be able to track in a Spider for 1/10 mile, but IDK... clinometer on the driveway tomorrow. I can jack-knife, detach, 7-point turn my longbed crewcab around, and reattach short trailers at this property. Somehow I got my chip truck turned around, Once!

When I was little, limbs used to come to the ground and I used to climb this one high above the ocean spray undergrowth so that it looked like a meadow below…and up beyond the tops of the other shorter Dougs. She’s all grown up now. View attachment 101937

15 new mats.

I think that's bringing it up to about 200 feet end to end of mats. 100' worth for trucks/ chippers.

Infrequently needed, priceless when needed.

@27RMT0N if you need mats, dm me.

These 15 4x8 textured mats were a bit over $1600 with tax.

Wow, those are cheap compared to what I got like two years back, where did you get them from?

Like you said, I seldom use mine as well, but when you need them, you need them. I'd have to look up what I paid, but it was quite a bit more than that. If I need more I'll keep that in mind.

Been waiting for good rain on this as it's on an island without running water etc. Clients just won't listen about longterm benefits of buying a small chipper to be out here, or just chop up the stuff to rot when they play with their tractor... Pretty silly to pay us to sit and watch a bonfire they made. Your fuels equation is much different to us though!

I have finally come to terms with the fact that I just need a small chipper

This one goes out to all you guys that have been posting pics of a fire. I bit my tongue for a few days in hopes to get a shot of a massive blaze, but couldn’t catch any shots to do justice.

I spent the a week of 12 hour shifts masticating a unit prior to a controlled burn. The whole area burned was probably over 20 acres as a guess, but I know for sure I was assigned to manage 9 acres prior burn. I finished the night before the day of the burn. Very hilly, and VERY rocky. Many slopes near 100% grade.

The burn crew was an awesome team. The reports were really satisfying in that the mastication efforts made for a safer, faster, easier, and more complete burn which will lead to a more effective transition for this habitat restoration project.
