This is the Akimbo

All those shiny new boo-boo bobbers sure didn't stop him form cutting his climbing line? No Bueno!

This fella is clearly suffering from some sort of OC disorder. A little therapy and some meds might be in order? Another great remedy is to simply go on a serious bender, get some pussy, shit on a cop car, get his ass kicked by said cops, and spend a few days in jail getting his ass continually kicked by the aforementioned law enforcement officers. Does wonder to clear the mind. Highly recommended!

Is it just me. or did anyone else feel a powerful need to hurt themselves after listening to that music for 15 minutes. I watched the vid while having my morning cup and some toast, when I was suddenly overtaken with a very strong urge to jam my butter knife in my own eye. Thank gawd my lovely wife showed up to talk me down off the ledge.
Hahaha.. I think this one qualifies for a stickie..

Sounds like quite the experience, but you forgot to include prison rape in there!!

My akimbo is supposed to arrive Monday  weather has finally broke so now I’m back to working, but I’ll have time to play with the akimbo in some of my trees in the evening I hope
When it wears down. Are there going to be parts sold, Friction bollards, etc or is it going to be a ship back to RE and they rebuild it? Or are neither of those options on the table?

After treestuff irritating me enough to cancel my Akimbo order with them and reordering from Bartlett putting me again at the bottom of the list I didn't think I'd see the Akimbo for a long time. But I just got a pleasant call from Bartlett informing me it's shipping out today!

I only had to wait a couple weeks with them, she told me they got their second shipment from RE so I'd think the rest of you should be getting yours soon assuming the place your ordered from received their second shipment too. :)

I asked those questions to the Rock Exotica rep in Charlotte and was told that there aren't any plans for replacement parts.
I doubt that it would fly with all of the CE certain and whatnot for us to be rebuilding our own.

My rope somehow this week acquired a single 1" little dot of sap on it. I have since encountered this little splotch on a few different climbs. It's not a big chunk, or really even noticeable save under close scrutiny, but it's tacky to the fingers, and completely locked up my akimbo. I had to take weight off the device and kinda fight past it, then we were back to buttery smooth. I realized something was up when thebollards clicked together but I wasn't going anywhere.

It's not a major complaint, just something to be aware of. I'm soaping down that little section this evening and seeing if I can't de-gunk it. I definitely won't be using the Akimbo on any pines...ever...but that was pretty much already set in stone, so no big loss to me.

Maybe try some olive oil or WD-40 to help get rid of those sticky blotches.

On my Tachyon it wasn't just the sticky quality of sap that was an issue. Even after I removed that and cleaned the surface of the rope the stiffness that resulted from soaked in sap was a performance issue as well.

Yeah I ultimately went through gap arborist supplies today. They get their shipment second week of March. I’m stoked

That's where I ordered mine and ended up being the first in line.
Great bunch at Gap to deal with.
They send you candy instead of stickers in the box.
Can't eat stickers. :rico:
I agree whole heartedly! They were really nice to work with and customer service was above par. I bought my tm light through them as well. They are definitely my new go to. 10% off each time too, no brainer
