This is the Akimbo

Just got confirmation tracking number from wesspur order 11/11. Should be here by Saturday.

I was wondering if anyone has been using Akimbo with drenaline line climbing Ddrt? What kinda knot are you using for other side of rope and how is it holding up?

Works good on SRS, and I haven't yet switched to DdRT at the TIP. I think you'll be happy.

For connecting the end on DdRT, I prefer a sewn or spliced eye, but if you need to tie onto a carabiner the scaffold knot is my recommendation, for what that's worth ... https://www.sailing-films.com/wp-content/videos/hands-on/knots_and_splices/Scaffold_Knot.mp4

For those of you that have tried it ddrt... How are you attaching it? The manual reccomends a rook/hydra, but there is another drawing where the standing leg just dissapears? What have you found works well, right to the bridge? to the attachment hole on the akimbo? to a seperate bridge ring?

It's snowing pretty good outside today so I didn't get a chance to get in a tree yet

I don’t see the need for a hydra, just on my bridge ring. Only thing is to make sure it’s on the spine side of the akimbo.

It behaves very differently DdRT and I’ve only natural crotched with it, i assume that it would be better with a pulley at the TIP

Ive run mine with Drenaline and Blue Moon Ddrt and Srt. As @evo said natural crotching seems a little different. It seems to work better on a ring/ring or any variation of. Haven't had it on any kind of pulley up top such as a pulleysaver.

Typically with a Multi-sling and Revolver I can use the same settings for Ddrt that I use on Srt when running Drenaline or Blue Moon.

I attach the termination carabiner to either my second bridge ring (empty) or just back to my DMM Small Axis (with Akimbo connected as well) ... It works well but things can get tight and I have to pay a little more attention to the device than with Srt.

you can attach to the same bridge ring to run mrs/ddrt. i find that a different hand position and feathering technique is called for when using the akimbo on mrs. i use it natural crotch almost exclusively as im normally only using it to advance to my final tie in or to exit the tree. i also find that the setting for the rope on srs works just fine on the same rope for mrs.

Good to know. I was just farting around on some small trees that I progressed climbed up, and didn’t want screw around with a canopy anchor.

When I worked with horses, I found wd40 was the best thing for getting cocklburrs and tangles out of the mane and tail. Slightly altered the color of the mane but not too bad. Much better than the commercial products.
i learned a while ago that wd40 stands for "water displacement formula 40" and it was originally intended for rust protection.

In practical use I don't find the Akimbo to be finicky at all or need a lot of fine tuning adjustments.
Of course, I'm okay with jerking it hard to get past a spot of hardend pitch on the rope, or reaching over and pushing up on the top arm when it continues to feed a bit more rope through than intended on a brand new rope of the same type. ( Took those to the laundromat soon after to wash out any mnf lube.)

When you have it set to suit your style and just work it hard I think you will love it most.

Sorry if you've answered before, but what rope or ropes are you using?

For me it seems to act different on my Ddrt systems
