hydrogenated vegetable oils like crisco and fake butter have some issues. coconut oil is good but has a pretty strong flavor that can overpower. i use it on my skin sometimes and i associate the flavor a little with skin care products

Another thing that is supposed to be good is Raw Apple Cider Vinegar “with the mother.”

You don’t drink it raw though. Mix it with water according to instructions.

Also raw honey

beat me to it rico. Ghee is awsome, it also can take higher heat so it is good for frying. I bought a tub of Duck fat too which is really tasty and is a good butter alternative for toast or whatever. hydrogenated vegetable oils have been proven to be toxic. they are much cheaper than butter though which explains their use. butter is pricey
Root veggies (beets, carrots, tators, parsnips) tossed in a little duck fat and roasted in the oven for an hour or so. . amazing.

I can’t understand why anyone would do that willingly! I largely use fake butter because I’m terribly lactose intolerant, but there are times I just have to use the real stuff and put up with the aftereffects. Real food of any sort is far superior to its fake counterpart.
Do lactase pills work?

My gf started drinking Lactaid, successfully. Hasn't tried more.

I have not tried the lactase pills, but I did try Lactaid milk and it did not work. That made me a little hesitant to try the pills.
Have you heard of almond milk? Substitute to real milk.

If any of you folks make it to Portland, ME, there's a really good restaurant called DUCKFAT. Their fryer is full of a duck fat blend and their fries are fantastic
That does sound good. Unfortunately the only times I get to Maine is trucking, and not many restaurants can handle a 53’ trailer very well.

I just told one of my employees to check the place out, he is heading up through Portland tomorrow to go fishing for a week out towards New Portland somewhere.
