Sorry to hear about this Tom.
I don't wish ANY of my fellow tree brothers to get hurt.
Heal up quick, the worlds a better place with you in it climbing and working
Interesting thread.
Modifying helmets, vented, no vented, safety comparisons regarding different colors, and warranty voiding on painting helmets.
I would like to see a crush test done on the vertex and a modified helmet. I bet the results would surprise us.
I do have a question:
Why of...
Jim454,
I have used the Morbark 7 before. It is an interesting machine in that of all the small capacity chippers this one does indeed chew up bigger material than one would think.
The huge drum acts like a branch crusher and at the same time the large diameter of the drum has tremendous...
Re: Video Spurclimber pruning w/o hardhat or glass
I'm wondering if Ox took this opportunity to present the tree company employees he filmed an ISA handout (or similar handout) on proper pruning guidelines?
Re: Video Spurclimber pruning w/o hardhat or glass
I think it is very sad that Ox has chosen to not participate in the discussion. Yes, lots of 'he said she said', but the fact is ox began this discussion with the stated intent of attempting to raise the bar of professional tree work.

typical behavior of law enforcement.
They take some old guys gun. Sure he was acting like an idiot, but what will happen if he needs to defend himself from a home invasion robbery? I bet he could sue if that indeed happened and he didn't have his shotgun to protect himself.

... We called the ISA, and they said on the phone they weren't really interested in traffic tickets and the like; only crimes that relate to the work were to be considered important.

Are you saying that the cert. board acted to make a major policy change to the ISA without bringing it to the board for evaluation and input before instituting this new policy?
Seems like any major policy change should be brought to the board to be discussed, BEFORE a policy change is effected...
"Are you wondering if that means it's the "calm before the storm" "
No, I was wondering if any cert. arborists had ever had their cert. yanked because of sub par work
Huh, read through this thread but I see no mention of any Cert. Arborist ever having had their cert. yanked for sub-standard arborist work.

Can anyone help with this question?

If the ISA applied consequences for anything that was related to the form, I'd say that could seem unreasonable according to my opinion, but it would not be invasion.

Good point, but time will tell if they 'apply the consequences' as stated in the form.
To date, I have...
