What do you use for a base anchor?

If you've got the coin, the snake anchor is the easiest, most versatile, awesome tool for the job. Cinch it up, and clip in your device of choice onto it. Fig8, Taz, Petzl Rig, Grigri*(yeah yeah I know), prussik+RW, etc

What do you use for a base anchor?

Spare 35' piece of rope with a choking ring/prussik setup with a Petzl ID. Instant lowerable system; added advantage of introducing more rope into the system if desired, easy peasy midline setup. You always have the perfect amount of tail :) And great for teaching new climbers so you can...

    Steve, you've got this.

I've spent very little time with Steve in person but I can vouch for the fact that he's super knowledgeable, humble and handsome

    ART Twinline Rope Guide

One of my favourite features is that you can keep your retrieval ball on your spliced eye and install your rope through the ropeguide effortlessly. The little trapeze / catch is dreamy

As long as you let the akimbo live on one single rope, it's great.but it does require babysitting, and it's not nearly as compatible in terms of plug and play as other devices I use mine on a daily basis, but it's not the penultimate tool either

And that's how it should be "If you're looking for a knowledgeable and incredible arborist company, you've found the right place. If you're looking for a cheap job on a budget, call somewhere else."

    variegated or not?

So many possibilities. Spray application drift, or genetic mutation within certain leaves, verticillium wilt (?!), micronutrient imbalances .... I am interested to see what more knowledgeable people have to say. Japanese maples are sweet trees. Bonus points for other people: Lion's Mane, or...

What's your idea of the best chainsaw pant and chainsaw chap?

I've had both. SIPs were my <9C pants, Cloggers for anything 10C and over. The only thing that makes me sad about t he cloggers is there's no nice suspender attachment point like on the Pfanners ... but alas, you can't everything. Might be a patent issue, i wouldn't know; but i'm about to mod...

    Road safety

While working in ESL neighbourhoods, we've resorted to running double rigging lines across access paths, especially for pedestrians. Use whatever physical barriers you can while on site, sometimes it's a dolly, a ladder, your garbage cans, or like I said just ropes strung up across the path in...

    This is the Akimbo

I don't use my akimbo in pitchy trees. I use my wrench for those and let the sap burn
