Less stretchy hitch cords tie more reliable hitches. A bunch of stretch lets them bind.
It's also true of a tighter braid. I hate how finicky ice tail got for me back when I used it (because it was so strong and heat resistant!)
We're not relying on the hitch to be a shock absorber. The tree...
That is exactly what I meant. On a healthy, strong tree, it should be on your list of options. I'll stand on 3" live oak with no qualms at all.
Just walking down and tossing whatever size pieces you can easily toss without hurting yourself doesn't necessarily train your "vision" but it...
I have a pair of the super light cloggers. Whatever the model name is.... and they are hot. Wear light ones and sweat or be reasonable and just put on chaps when it is time to cut.
I don't really watch a bunch of videos of tree work being done with cute soundtracks behind them, but I was looking at the videos for treestuff's video contest thing and the very first one blew me away as the scale of this dead euc resonated and I got to see how terribly split apart it was.

Someone recommended that I hang my big saw from my leg when I work down a spar. It is supposed to keep the weight in a more comfortable spot.
I haven't tried it yet.
I love them as well. I bought two after the first time I saw one and they've been on my saddle ever since.
I'd rock a transporter if one was given to me, but I wouldn't take off my shembiners. I'd probably put a locking gate tool on my leg strap.
I just want to throw out that I have two original shembiners, and they are no longer shaped identically.
I can only guess that I bent my left one by snagging it during a swing or as I muscled off of a dead stub or something, but it is definitely deformed from some amount of load that was small...
We have a big one.
It's motherfucking big and heavy. Like a medium size POW. It was a gift at a competition from someone who knew that they wouldn't use it.
