Little tiny bit back heavy but that's being nit-pickey since you asked. It's not like "whoa this saw is off balance" or anything. It feels good in the hand.
I file my chains on my personal saws as well as on my personal t540i that I use at work but company policy is to just swap chains. We're paid well, above industry standard, and a new chain is cheaper than the labor + down time at the work site to sharpen one, especially a longer one.
I actually just read the other day on IG that KB said (in a comment on someone else's post doing the exact same) that the RW has tested to be plenty strong enough end-to-end for life support and the only real issue with doing so is you'd need to use a double locking SLIC pin (which Travor...
You use your top handle saws on the ground? My top handles are for in tree use only, that even includes myself. 261 is the smallest ground saws we use.
While I don't disagree with your bolded text I would argue that Travor was in more danger staying in the tree with those groundie than he put himself in bailing in the manor he did.
Travor is a top notch tree worker, he's also one of the few who regular posts videos showing mistakes.
You can build a DIY wrench for $0, use an old piece of hitch cord for the tether ($0) to attach it to a pinto ($50) and have a much better option than the ATC.
If you're only an occasional climber that's all the more reason to get proper tools, I do this every day and I wouldn't want to...
If you're gonna carry an additional piece of kit (over just a spare biner you probably already have on your saddle at all times anyway) why not go with a rig-n-wrench setup?
@Jonny read my story above, the only payment I'll accept from new members anymore is PayPal F&F. Got scammed by a noob, almost got me too (thank God I had the foresight to get a drop off receipt, just the tracking wasn't good enough)
I typically use #2, I'd be 100% comfy on #1 as well. One thing I never do is capture the working end as shown in #3 because it effects retrivability when natty crotch redirecting.
You can pry my t540i XP out of my cold dead hands.
[Forrest Gump voice] that's all I have to say about that.
Yes 3 bli200X batteries to last the day.
Talking full on removals here, it out cuts 540T gas and 201t no problem... If a 14" bar is enough for the task at hand it'll do it, burry the...
Search "O rig" (may need to use Google site search as "O" is definitely to short of a term for the built in search, and "rig", if long enough, is super common and will return too many results to be helpful. It may also be good to search it on YouTube with some other tree climbing terms thrown...
Not just an extra line, it's double the hardware; two HC's, 4 biners, 2 hitch cords...
The practical difference is you're gonna have to tend two systems at once.
The M rig self-equalizes the TIP forces, with dual systems you can unequally load the TIP's. Be sure to select proper TIP's and this...
Get yourself the 18oz FTF pulsar throw weight for double bagging & line manipulation.
Best trick I've ever learned is double bagging with the additional weight girth hitched onto the first line mid-line instead of using a 2nd line. Be careful of knots though!!
My only experience with prisim is a well used hank a coworker gave me so I can't fully answer your question. It was near EOL but I'd say, in that state, it wasn't very much like well wore PI/ Focus. I'd be confident telling you to pass unless you're going for the blue moon type...
Longer as in sticks out of the sides of the saw body further?
Are you running a 14 or 16" setup? I was thinking about weight already and thought a 16" bar might help balance the heavier 300x better.
I ordered mine from stafford equipment out of AL, delivered in 3 days. Shopped local first and they had stock of the saws and batteries but they couldn't come close on the price (I'll gladly pay a slight local premium but they were over $250 more) .
The kit with the BLi300X battery is sold out...
