    Energy absorber for rock climbing.

Sounds like a great device if you are doing a lot of solo lead climbing out on the rock walls. I'm not sure why you would want to use it in a tree, seems like a great way to bounce all over the place.

I'm sorry to hear that, that's terrible!

    Today....

Finished putting a new bottom in an old skidloader bucket this morning, and dropped it off to have a cheap coat of paint sprayed on it.

    Lanyard snap attachment

The little yellow thing isn't a pulley, it is the part that comes out when you remove the retainer bolt, so that you can install that snap on a closed eye rope. You don't have to splice it in, you can install it on any rope with an eye.

F450 surplus auction ambulance as equipment truck and tow vehicle???

Sounds interesting, but can it tow? Ambulance packages tend to be very heavy. Also, how many miles and hours are on it? Ambulances often do a lot of idling, and when they are driven, they are driven hard.

Is it time to replace the bungee on my Big Shot?

It is amazing how much easier that trick is. I sliced rubber with razor knives for years before I learned about the air, and that has made life much easier by far!

Is it time to replace the bungee on my Big Shot?

I think the difference is in tension on the rubber. The tubing on the horns is under constant stress from being stretched over the horns, the rest of the tubing is only stressed when you pull on it. Look at where the tubing connects to the cup, you'll most likely see that it is also cracking...

    Euro tracked chippers.

It sure is frustrating, and I find it interesting that everyone seems to be going to the same site. Almost makes me want to believe in conspiracy theories! Probably not good for Tracked Lifts though, I can't see anyone who is directed there when they don't want to be having much desire to buy...

    Homelite Crankcase Pulse Chain Oiler

Old technology is really fascinating, I am amazed what engineers have come up with over the years, especially back in the pencil and paper days.

    New TreeBuzz Ad Format???

Yes, it really is. It is making me less inclined to post on TreeBuzz. The fact that most pictures load sideways has already stopped me from posting pictures most of the time, if I can't click on things I'm liable to just quit clicking altogether.

tool/chainsaw lanyard attachment options while in a bucket truck?

On that lift, almost no lag. It does have a ramp up feature, so it doesn't jolt you out of the basket, but it responds pretty quickly. I blame the operator for that one though, you should not keep a lift in place where the tree can roll onto it. When I made cuts like that out of our lift, I...

    New TreeBuzz Ad Format???

I'm running Safari on an iPhone 16, the latest version of everything and it was giving me trouble yesterday. I haven't seen it jumping all over, but it has been directing me to ads instead of what I click on.

    Today....

Yes, for sure. This is the same kid that smashed the fuel gauges on a chipper at my shop, pulled every pin and clip out he could get his hands on, and threw rocks at my neighbors cars and pets. Apparently he is known to have behavioral issues, and it seems that maybe his parents were not as good...

    New TreeBuzz Ad Format???

Someone else posted a similar thread the other day. You are definitely not the only one. I haven't had that problem on my new iPhone, that's the only way I look at this site. However, yesterday, for a short while every time I tried to click the "like" button I was redirected to an advertisement...

    Today....

I have a Dogwood in my front yard with that problem right now. Kid of the family who rented my house while I was out of the area the other year drove at least 20 nails into the base of my poor Dogwood tree.

    Today....

And sometimes we find chain link fence. Eight feet tall and fully grown in to the tree. Didn't know it was there until we hit it. In six places on the trunk... We finally cut in from both sides until we hit steel, and yanked as hard as we could with a loader until it finally broke. That's when...
