New TreeBuzz Ad Format???

I really don’t want to complain about something like this, because there’s a good chance it’s my old tablet’s compatibility, but the page is constantly jumping around as ads change on the screen. Some adds even show up in between messages. It’s making it really challenging to read a full sentence before things skip around and change place. Am I the only one?

Someone else posted a similar thread the other day. You are definitely not the only one. I haven't had that problem on my new iPhone, that's the only way I look at this site. However, yesterday, for a short while every time I tried to click the "like" button I was redirected to an advertisement page for Tracked Lifts. That was rather frustrating.

I notice the ads but it hasn’t caused any major problems for me. Running safari on an iPhone 11
Try a different browser?
I'm running Safari on an iPhone 16, the latest version of everything and it was giving me trouble yesterday. I haven't seen it jumping all over, but it has been directing me to ads instead of what I click on.

I am on the latest android os, and my only real issue is that the top of the page banner loads on a heavy dely to the rest of tge page, so I end up clicking on it when I was just trying to open the notifications/go to newest posts. It's annoying but if things were jumping all over while I was trying to read, I would be bitching and moaning like a $2 whore.

That’s obnoxious

That’s obnoxious
Yes, it really is. It is making me less inclined to post on TreeBuzz. The fact that most pictures load sideways has already stopped me from posting pictures most of the time, if I can't click on things I'm liable to just quit clicking altogether.

I've found that various forums on the web have weird behaviour usually to do with automatic ads. I bounce between three browsers on my older mac and still sometimes can't read some (non-treebuzz:)) pages. 30 years ago a software guy and I were discussing resume skills listing and we marvelled at the cornucopia of Os'es and languages and he said the only thing there was more of was new superceding standards. New boss same as the old boss ;) It's a marvel the web continues to function.

So I’m not the only one. Hopefully the powers that be can figure out some sort of resolution. I remember when they last changed up the platform. It was slightly shaky for a spell but still the kind of place that I wanted to engage with.

It’s almost as bad as a blog site that holds a chocolate chip cookie recipe my wife wants me to make for the kids but I can’t get it done because things are jumping around worse than a 5 year old all hopped up on a bag of sour patch kids.

Interesting how the timing coincides with a TCIA article about how they’re aligning with TreeBuzz. I’m just a dirty peasant making a comment, but this harks of countless other “bigger, better, faster” examples. Revenue goes up. Quality goes down.

I’ll likely still want to engage with all y’all here, cuz all y’all are the best, but hopefully I’ll see a pop up for ad blocker glasses I can wear over my blue blockers.

There's been a large drop in users of this site over the past few years. Is this the death knell?

I hope not. I hope we can lobby to keep things reasonable for everyone.

I used to regularly drop in at the treehouse. The site changed, killed my browser, wrecked my login on an alternate browser and then completely changed format. They essentially discouraged me out of participating there. No malice, just too much hassle. I'm now an infrequent guest there despite being registered.

I use the Buzz exclusively on an older Android phone. Samsung Galaxy S10E. I seem to be unaffected. I mostly ignored the ads before and nothing has changed, and they don't insert themselves into my viewing as some of you are experiencing. We got to keep the Buzz buzzing! This too shall pass
