    European Hornet Damage?

I’ve seen the E. Hornet damage lilac and dogwood stems but not on holly. Also it looked different than the damage on your holly. Like the others have said, I’m going with sap sucker.

    Carlton SP4012 belt tension question

Interesting...i had just changed the belt after almost 900 hours. The replacement belt is an exact match to the original but the original didn’t cause the problem with the wheel spinning when disengaged. I took the cover off again and looked everything over but I cannot figure out how to fix...

    Carlton SP4012 belt tension question

I am having trouble with my machine. Just replaced the drive belt (not the poly chain). The problem I am having is that the belt is turning the cutting wheel even when it’s not engaged. This is happening even with the turn buckle in the engagement lever turned down. Basically it turns the...

    Rooster next door

I don’t like roosters but maybe it’s because live in an area where the properties are small (1/2 acre average). A neighbor a couple streets over had one. That bird would not stop all day long! Luckily it was close to 250 yds away from my yard...it was faint. I don’t know how the closer...

    Branch Manager Grapple.

I think it depends on which machine you have. We hardly ever had a problem reconnecting couplers on our 323 Dingo Now we have a 8 series Kanga and 8 times out of 10, we have to crack a fitting (to relieve pressure) to reconnect. It’s a pain in the ass and we’ve tried every method to alleviate...

    Gas Bucket Truck Performance

Im I’ve heard that the exhaust system on those old 454s is too restrictive. Maybe you can look in to having the exhaust modified to get more from that engine?

    Niftylift SD50 hose replacement

Anyone here know a ball park for replacing all the hoses in the boom? (parts and labor). Just trying to get an idea for down the road since my machine is almost 5 years old. I figure if one hose blows from normal wear and tear that I might as well change out all of the hoses in the boom. It...

    Complacency

Yea, taking chances seems to be mistaken for “skill” these days. A true professional climber is smooth, efficient and safe.

[I know there's no hard-#'s!] How frequently% do you guys think tree-failure is the culprit for climber-deaths?

I haven’t heard of too many trees failing and killing climbers . I hear more about contact with wires and struck by’s causing death. Also, there are incidents of a climbers hardware failing and or cutting his climbing line leading to death.
