Hats off to the thinkers and tinkerers of our industry, especially the real pioneers who did so much with so little.
The first knee ascender I saw was the style where the knee ascender is advanced by a bungee that goes up to a pulley or carabiner at the bridge and connects back down at the...
If I were buying new I'd probably get the 550. I'm still running a 353 for my in between saw. I could upgrade but I have a soft spot for old stuff that still rips.
I always liked the idea of a retractable reel but I found the Keybak didn't have as good of a return speed and feel of a bungee. I also use a Croll (simply because that's what I have) so there may be more drag there than a smaller ascender. For whatever reason I could never get it dialed in.
I remember trying to order a rye and ginger down in the states one time. The bartender had no idea what the hell I was asking for. I can't stand to drink scotch or American whiskey but I sure can crush a bottle of Canadian whiskey or Carribean spiced rum.
I was thinking more in terms of my Husqy saws, but now that I think of it, you have to engage the throttle trigger in order to choke a 200t. Makes a lot more sense now.

I've got a question that is probably obvious but I haven't been able to find the answer. What mechanism causes the chainsaw to start in high idle? I'm guessing that choking the...
I misplaced my pulley saver last fall. Actually a little heartbroken because I loved that thing. Instead of a pinto I spliced up a prussic with a rigging ring. It added that little bit of friction and made Ddrt so much easier on the arms and elbows. Not to mention it offered a little peace of...
Evening guy here, 730 or 8pm. Dinner has settled and the kids are in bed. I find it's easier to psych myself up all day for some quality exercise later on than to convince myself to get up before 6am. I really like sleep. Plus I find I make better food choices knowing a workout is still coming...
Pavel Tstatsouline just updated his Simple and Sinister book. The meat of the program involves 10x10 one arm kettlebell swings and 1x10 Turkish get ups. Those two exercises require a lot of practice and discipline, but they build a rock solid posterior chain and shoulders. It's a great working...
