Is that an arborjet plug? Sure looks like its in dead wood...is that the "oak wilt treatment"? In deadwood it does no good. Also, everything I have seen says oak wilt is best treated with macroinjection, not micro.

That sure looks like Inonotus dryadeus - which Chris Luley counts among...
I think it used to be "renew" every 5...but maybe that was 3. I think it was 5 because pretty sure I've only done it twice. Now it's full retake every 7. Which kinda sucks. More than the cost is the 2 extra days of missed work. Maybe I'll see if I can take it in Texas or Florida in January.
Last I knew they do not include the BMP...just the manual. But times they are a changing. No more "recert" for TRAQ, it's going to be a full retake (7 years IIRC). So there may be other changes too.
Looking for parts to keep 2 Silky Hayate saws that have been workhorses. The simple button that locks in place came out. Apparently not in stock. While looking I came across this at @arbsession - curious if anybody can compare to the Silkys (or Notch)...

On one or two of the pics, I thought maybe Pine Bark adelgid. But that should have shown up on some of your close-up pictures. See if there is any on the trunk, or maybe the back side of the trunk? It would usually be on the underside if it's on a branch
Based on your pictures of the...
Do you have good options for compressor rental?
I bought a compressor pretty quickly after buying the AirKnife.
It is great for even small jobs...even a single tree that has been over-mulched for 10 years. But small jobs are really hard to price approximately when you have to rent. Not just...
I like your plan and other comments with a few thoughts:
I don't know what the "right" answer is for soil removal. I don't want skid loaders running all of the the root zone again. But how else do you get that much soil out of there? Air Vac? Still a lot of dirt to move.
Also, I see the...
