treebing - my preferred method with the Uni is two hands, especially with this ring setup. It is very, very similar to a figure 8 backed up with a hitch. If I need to one hand the Uni, which I do frequently, I will use the wrap method as opposed to just a squeeze. I find it is as easy to control with a wrap as with a traditional friction system.
Softbankhawks - I use two carabiners so that I can attach and detach the fix/ring with my weight fully on the Unicender. I just prefer having this ability without having to lanyard in.
familytree - remember the fix ring is not just a slack tender, but shares the friction; which is more than what you are asking of the wire gate revolver.
treeweaver - the attachment shows my most current preferred method of attachment of the Uni. (I tend to experiment a lot.) Very fast to go from a walker system to work positioning. The Croll and the Patin are out of the way or readily available if needed.
