I agree... there's a lot of denial in this industry... No one wants to be the bad guy to show how this highly respected industry icon made such simple mistakes... So his death lives in the shadows and effects other industry leaders who advise "small is good", when far more practical advice would better serve us.
How about this for starters..
don't side load your trees, use a re-direct block at the base of the tree, if you need to put the the LD elsewhere..
