It boils down to guys that get stuff done and guys that wish they could. F$%King PU$$ies. Shut up and put up. Sick of the comments from jackasses that put up NOTHING. Clown's.

yes you are right. we are clowns for pointing out various safety issues. we obviously dont get any work done because we are far too safe. good day to you sir.

In the time it took to spew Ricky, I bet you and your 'men' could have put on some hat hats.
I don't always get stuff done... but when I do, it's with proper ppe.

The heart of the matter is this is unregulated, involuntary trade.
Any one who complains about the cowboys should take it to the associations in charge and make this a red seal trade.

We all run with the wolves we all go done with the pack.
The good, bad, bold and ugly!

takin sides doesn't matter much cause the rules still do not apply.
It is what it is. Yee hah

It boils down to our insurance rates being astronomical because of clowns like this. That's a detail I'll argue about, just try me.

:)

My insurance is cheap, why is yours so high? Post up or shut up! Let see what u got, beside proper puctuation.

30 years in the business and never had an insurance claim, til this summer, hit an AC unit with the stump grinder.. That was just under $3,000... Pretty good deal for the insurance companies huh?

Your criticisms about PPE would be more credible if they were applied universally.... hardly the case here at TB...

Common sense trumps regs and guidlines in my mind... PPE is always a good idea, and I feel naked without it. However I often will forgo the chaps if I AM just making a quick falling cut or two... which happens all the time... I worked that job for about 2 minutes and left shortly thereafter..

Noticed not a peep about the cut.. You guys treated me worse than a red headed stepchild when I first showed it... til I showed it again and again and again. Works every time!

So does that mean you're out of your little boxes on this one? Have we heard from Chip lately? He figured it out, but didn't have the stones to say so... any one else try this cut yet?

LOL in advance!

Spoken like a true "Grizzly Man"; PPE is kind of like the 5 second rule with dropped food.

I miss the old smedium Stihl sweatshirt, I wonder if you hulked out of that while being videotaped. That would have been cool to watch.

As for all of the Naysayers of this video, go back to your boy scout troops and cry to mama, cause Dadio is back, he's crazier and heavier than ever, and he don't give a F#ck about safety.

SZ

No, Daniel. We're not peers. That's a fact.

Ricky, insurance is 'high' in our industry due to the abundance of claims, which can most often be easily connected with lack of PPE or safe work practices. Is that clear enough for you? I'm speaking about 'our' rates as an industry.

Banjo go shave the mangina. He got the job done and is a short video. Man up and post B#%$#!

Classy.

Your response to valid safety concerns is to "man up"?

Go back to your trailer, Carney.

Go back to trimming the little University tree's and let the real boys talk shop!

Don't hate just cuz you're jealous.

I know I would much rather spend a couple hours getting stitched up in the ER than take the 2 minutes to throw on some chaps. When I nailed my leg with a saw, it was just a 2 minute job - caught a sucker with the tip and bang - had my saw pants on which saved some flesh.

Daniel - I used to think like you right up until that point, if I wasn't already wearing saw pants, I doubt I would have taken the time to put on chaps, it would (could) have been a costly mistake. Now, the chaps go on if I don't have my saw pants on no matter how quick the job is.

Arborists, Cowboys, Bada$$ tree guys, Boyscouts, whatever we are or whatever we think we are - The chainsaw doesn't know the difference and doesn't care if it's cutting wood or flesh.

Common sense = do everything in your control to avoid injury, even if it's not the "cool" thing to do.

1. Stop fantasizing about what's in my pants, it's creepy.
2. By the time you've pressed record on your low-fi ego recorder I'm in the tree putting material on the ground. I've seen your videos and I would smoke you any day and look awesome doing it.

If this is directed at me you should look through the archives. Anytime I see flagrant PPE violations I call them out and get lots of crap for it.

Very true Banjo, I can attest for that. Don't see it as getting "crap for it", it must be more about not showing an effort to see past the bad. If your blinded by the bad it wont help anyone else see the good. But good on you for making safety the top priority, I feel a growing trend towards the movement.

Murph had good form, proper footing, and was intently focused on the task at hand. The cut is effective, interesting to see the back strap rip and pop before cutting was complete. One of those cuts where you want to watch your toes so they don't end up underground! Aye and fix those divots yeah?!?!
