new rope wrench tether

Oceans tether is made just for the hc pulley. It really is beautiful. Best tether yet. Benn flyin with it the last few days and it works awesome.

If your using a fixe, i think the ct is the best because of narrower side plates. Pinto and rig are really wide and you have to find a huge biner. Petzl and isc are okay but they are wider than the ct.

I am using the fixe' from CT, i like it, I'm using the CT oval with 8mm a-prus tied DBl fisherman's, and I still have room

I also find you can use the slightly wider ISC fixe with the ISC HMS biner. This is the best looking combo by far. A rope wrench specific pulley in the works, but there are lots of combos that work well. I have found that placing the tether on the side of the micro pulley outside of looking assymetrical works pretty well.

Kevin I've been using mine like this for a while now but a few days ago I was working a spar and coming back up on spikes so standing and tending the slack one handed as I moved up. I noticed the angle on the tether was causing it to bend sideways and tweaking the tether and having a tough time advancing the hitch. Wonder if anyone has had this experience? I just contacted Oceans so hopefully will get the new tether and get it dialed. LOVING the RW!

How do you guys attach the stiff tether to your climbing system? I've been putting mine to the side of the prussik and hitchc....?

Being pretty new I'm trying everything, I like the pinto pulley but I also like the hitch climber pulley, guess I pretty much like anything.
Anyway, what about using an i2i like Beeline, the shortest you can buy or make one and then encase it in clear heat shrink tubing, ya, I like that stuff too!

Hey fella's,

This is what I made up based on Ocean's design. As previously mentioned in another thread I made one of steel rod and flat strap with the intention of tweeking and re-manufacturing in alloy. Oceans got me thinking of composite materials and this is what I come up with.

Carbon fibre (14/12mm) tubing used on RC helicopters, 6mm Vectrus taped i2i brummel spliced total length is just shy of 300mm. Where the Vectrus exits the tube at either end is whipped, locked and heat shrunk so as to not wear against the carbon fibre tube ends, the tube ends are externally wrapped with electrical tape and heat shrunk so as to remove any chance of them splitting longways (as well this alleviates the tether from getting jammed/caught in between the sides of the wrench when the weight comes of it and its unset.

I am waiting for an oceans solid tether. No rush I know he is busy.

I still think that ISC, petzl or DMM needs to make a slack tending pulley that can accommodate the solid tether and RW.
