Re: Kentucky.... a place in America!

And I wasn't really responding to Kathy's question about women competing, just in case that's how it looks.

I mean, it wouldn't be a stretch to look down the row of posts, read Kathy's and then my reply directly after it and assume that when I wrote "I am still planning on attending this TCC" that I was referring to myself as being one of the women competitors (which I hope there are), not that there would be anything wrong with me competing, it's just that I am not a woman, though several times I have called myself out on these boards and led some of you out there to wonder just who is this guy who feels like he has to write a whole paragraph explaining a simple post after another post and if you look back, it's been like a whole week since I posted anything on this Kentucky TCC thread.

So, just to clear things up.

no need to explain either.

They will know the truth when they see you.

So how would that work if only one woman signed up to compete? can the rules be explained to this newbie?

Two out of state women have expressed a serious interest, both have competed internationally, One is working on arrangements to make it.
( I originally posted the date for the tcc a week earlier than it actually is)
The other has verbally committed, but I haven't heard anything solid lately.
I'm sending the vibes and affirmations out "IT WILL HAPPEN" repeat daily.

Re: Kentucky.... a place in America!

ez, you crack me up! thanks for the giggles..

roger, so do tell. who are these international competitors you've drawn to your fabulous comp?

jersey, fyi i have been the only woman competitor several times at the chapter level. it varies from chapter to chapter what criteria they have to allow a competitor with no competition (???) to represent at itcc - around here the new rule is to "successfully complete all events". ask your chapter liason to the tcc.

So... what's up with sign ups?? Is it too late? If not... where's the info?

[/ QUOTE ]

Theres a link to the registration form that I posted somewhere above.

As far as sign ups are concerned, We are limited to a max of 30, and that's pushing it, climbers we have tentatively 20 committed with 7 paid: 9 that have obligated to paying : 4 I've spoke with that this week I'll find out for sure. And the way its been in the past there's been last minute show ups. If there not here for the meeting on the 12th they are not climbing 12 of those are KY chapter affiliated...Ky climbers get in, it has to be that way. This is the first year we have opened it to guest climbers with the understanding that no prizes and no advancement to master's if from out-of state. That's about it. It's hard for me to give a definite yes at this point. So that's where it stands to date, Officially the deadline was the 1st but there is a late clause. I hope this helps. Anyone can contact me via pm and I'll respond asap.

Thanks.

Has the EZ weather forecast gone through any changes or is it still the same? I'm excited to make the trip. I have only 3 days of classes next week then it's off to KY for some good times, good drinks, and sushi.

Thanks ya'll. I just wanted to know if I could compete. There's no way I'd win, but I've been thinking about the comps all summer. It would be nice to go race around with the clocks on, and good people around. I'm also trying to get some newer people on the crew exposed to the comps because I'm leaving the crew in the spring, and I don't want the others to forget about these events. Thanks.
