None of the above guys.

Kenton: we do have Have lots of Eucs here, but not at my elevations.

I'm at 2700' . This tree grows at lower elevation , but is more prominent at higher elveation up to around 5000' maybe a little more.Gets redish orange berries in spring to to mid summer. They are edible and can be very sweet.About the size of a pea.Height, anywhere from 5 to 25' tall.

Thanks
Greg

Mulberry?

If it is I should shoot myself... that is the very first tree I climbed as a kid. My grandparents had dozens of them in a row near the drive. We'd climb up clean, and descend purple from head to toes.

Icabod: not a mulberry

Kenton: very good. yes Manzinita and the berries can be very tasty if you can get to them before the bears eat them all. I've seen forest of these were you could litterally walk through them like a stand of conifirs.Impressive when you see a grove like that, otherwise I cant stand them. Extreamly hard wood. I have turned quite a bit of it. no need for varathane, just finish it with a very fine grit and use some oil to finish it off. smooth as silk.

I hate to be the only one posting pics in here, so if you have any to post , please do so. I like to guess as well. One of the neat facts about the city I work for , is that we have over 250 different typs of trees. Keeps my id skills half way in check. I stink though at botanical names.

Keep up the good work .

Thanks
Greg

Here\'s one for ya!

This is one of my favorite looking trees. It might be an easy one. I'll start with the pics, then hints to follow if needed.
