F8 revolver

Yeah i explain why i switched it from the revolver to the 8 in the video. I'll try to get it up soon. But in brief i connect it that way so that the revolver is going directly into the 8. Not "sideloading" as others have said.

I'm working on the video's now.

I actually think it is better. Little less friction as it doesn't pull the rope at all. But i find that it works great for me. I won't go back, the other thing i noticed is when going through crotches, the biner will, slide around them easier as it can move. Not sue if that explained well. The revolver will flex to go around a limb then spring back into the position. Maybe thats clearer.

ok not sure how to post video's I'll post a link to my facebook. They are on there. There are about 14 video's of different things, my F8 setup, my ascension with the F8 that you can switch over mid-air between ascension and lowering safely, and also my setup for a trunk belay ascension method.

Hope you enjoy, they were taken on a phone so not great quality.

Try this climbing video's

hmmm i guess i might have to switch them to youtube i guess. Anyone know how i came make it so everyone can view the videos through facebook?

that looks great derrik, ill have to give that a whirl. As for backing up the acender, I choose not to even be tied in to the acender at all. I do not consider it to be a tie in point, just a climbing aid. I feel very safe with just the hitch. To me, the safety standard is set by the footlock prussic which is a pretty low bar but one that i climbed on for years. The hitch at my harness is safer than a footlock prussic because a never expose myself to slack in the system.

played around with it on my pullup bar in the reverse way and I definitly think it is showing a lot of promise to me to be a superior configuration. Im excited to fly it up in the trees!

What you have inadvertingly did, was make a home made Kong Robot. Just how can I break my arm off to pat myself on the back. The true and smoothess way to run this is with a Kong Robot.

Hey holly, when you climb are you workig the tree SRT with the Robot? I am a little skeptikal because the bend is so intense at least in the pictures. Can you post a couple of pictures of your setup? Definitly still intrigued in this. When I set up the system in Derrick's manner I immediatly saw severaly ways to streamline the "friction reducer" much in the manner of the Robot. A combination of all these concepts I believe will be the best of all of these systems.

Its interesting to me how slow it is to change climbing styles. It takes forever to get around to trying a new technique. How long ago was it that you brought up the Kong and I still havent climbed on it. How many climbers out there are still trying to get around to testing out a micropulley beneath their blake's hitch.

"One of these days I'm going to try that, looks pretty nifty!"

one of these days.

I'll get some up by the end of the week. I have crane jobs most of the week. Think thrusday and friday is my prune days.

Unless Family can get some up before me.

Here are some other pictures of set ups.

This is how i extend my climbing knot to footlock, if desired.
