Does anyone climb fo' fun anymore?

Re: Does anyone climb fo\' fun anymore?

And thanks, Sohner, for trying to bring this thread back to topic. Those are some sweet pics of Redwood climbing. Definitely love to see more. YOu seem to be a cornucopia of vintage pictures!

Re: Does anyone climb fo\' fun anymore?

I shot that picture (Scotty's avatar)... Scotty and Steffan were climbing fo' fun... they just have a different take on rec climbing than most of us.

Might as well post some rec climbing shots from Geezers 2008. These were posted in the Geezers thread but they ARE rec climbing after all....

About a third of the tie-ins in the master's tree Sunday Morning...

That's a great picture of Kathy! Makes me consider buying the TM again.

As far as the last picture....I think that's assault,
They look waaay to happy, and, I hope he washed his hands!

Now wait a minute! Scotty is the one with the shat eating grin on his face! The camera did not catch me yelling at Scotty that it would take at least three dates to get permission to enter the cubby hole!

Charges have been filed with the Windermere police about this assault, they just haven't investigated it yet because they are so busy catching speeders in their town.

My goodness..I hope our competition doesnt go all gay on us...not that there is anything wrong with that. on second thought....
Hey rocks...just before Dan climbs....grab AZZ! It will distract him and throw off his climb just enough to give you the advantage. Ill go for Dave...I just hope we dont get DQed for homoshinannagins.

Re: Does anyone climb fo\' fun anymore?

When we started up this big boy it was way early in the morning. The fog cleared a bit so we could see the top. By the time we made it to the top the fog was so thick you couldn't see the ground. Made it interesting when it came to retieing your rope to get to the ground. Where's the ground?

Re: Does anyone climb fo\' fun anymore?

We are about fifty feet apart in the picture. The boot is on a limb 199 feet off the ground. This a shot looking down the outside of the tree.

Re: Does anyone climb fo\' fun anymore?

This shot is looking up the inside of the tree from about 115 feet down inside a hollow. A slow crawl to sunlight. Many things were found in the tree mostly put their by squirrels we quess. Fir cones were everywhere in the hollow.Cracks in the walls that let a little daylight in.

Re: Does anyone climb fo\' fun anymore?

Things look different from up in a tree 250 feet.

Life in the tree tops is quite something. A completely different feeling then being on the ground.

High enough up that you can't see the ground.
