Somebody asked if we had a picture of all of the climbers that competed, and sadly, I don't think there are any group photos like that....

Next year, I think at the gear check in, we should take a group photo for posterity, of the climbers and the judges.

I am working on getting all of the photos that I took downloaded to Photobucket, and once they are all there, I'll post the link. Should be later tonight.

I am still on a high from Saturday....such a great group of Arborists enjoying first class climbing and fellowship. Can't wait to see folks at the GAA in a couple of weeks, and then Little Rock.

Unless it's a wide angle lense (SP?) you missed Rob and me. We were tearing down the Masters behind you- How many buzzers were there? Unfortunately for us- and Ben, we all missed the awards ceremony. Would have liked to have been there.

I agree that it was unfortunate that you guys missed the awards ceremony. But......you guys had to pay the price for being the only 4 who didn't make the climber's meeting.

I look forward to seeing you guys in Little Rock. Pancake, are you competing there? You did very well for your first competition last weekend, very impressive.

I just wanted to say it was a pleasure competing, and being judged in some cases, by all of you. It's a beautiful thing when something goes off as smooth as that comp. I was telling my co-workers today that my cheeks were hurting at the end of the day. Not because of the cold, but due to the fact I just couldn't stop smiling! Thanks again!

Pay the price?! I thought we were lending a hand, now I find out its punishment? Cmon guys. I had a great time this weekend and could care less about being in a picture. But next time if it comes down to work conflicting with a competition, I think everybody would understand if someone showed up late. After all its our work that got us here.

Also I did pay the price for missing the meeting... I didn't hear about rule changes, thus losing me points, and inevitably keeping me from the Masters. Nevertheless I had a great time. Hopefully next time I won't have to help break down anything because I will be too exhausted FROM WINNING!!!

Thanks for the compliment. My goal was to not finish last in my first competition, now I can aim higher. That was really a first class event. My saddle was a little looser today, must be missing a portion of my backside, wait... I remember now, it was chewed off in the parking lot by two grumpy fellas Friday night during gear inspection. {and we thought that was the punishment for arriving late} Seriously, thanks for working with us, we really enjoyed it. And remember, TN is the volunteer state-all you have to do is ask and we'll give it our best shot (we enjoyed tear down, kinda, well actually it was really cold) Kudos to all involved it was a tremendous effort. Great venue, top knotch competitors, and the comaradirie I always expect to find at a competition. I am glad to see the competition going away from the "good old days" of beer swilling tree guys banging around trees to an event that that public can come to and be entertained and educated. Great job Rich, I wish I could have listened more to your discussion. That is why you can recruit great competitors and sponsors. That is why we all had fun. I also found it really neat to meet people face to face that I have only communicated to on this site and not been let down by what I found. Let's do it again real soon.

Thanks everyone for the congrats; I think it's safe to say we all had a blast. I would like to reciprocate the love and thanks to everyone for a great experience, "you are all excellent arborists!"

See y'all in Decatur and Little Rock.

Not punishment. We all have to be responsible for our actions and their natural consequences. I'd say it is a safe bet we are all asking for the whole day off next year. Lesson learned. And I agree missing did hurt. New scoresheets, gear questions- seemed some things changed and slipped under the radar since Internationals. It dosen't pay to be tardy. Putting an event of this caliber on is very intense- the fewer snags the better. I can remember last year in TN having 6 climbers show up unannounced the morning of the climb. I appreciate the consideration as I am sure all of the TN Crew does. Besides we did get some great pictures, and had a great time. See you at training in a few weeks BJ.

Without a doubt that was THE BEST RUN Chapter TCC I have ever seen or even heard of. Congrats to Stephan, Vince, Morice, Scott, and the rest of the incredible team who headed this event up. The site was phenomenal to say the least and the sponsors deserve huge congrats for all the donated food, drink, and excellent prizes.

Congrats also to the climbers for their incredible display of class, talent, and comraderie. Matt Hodges "old school" Master Climb was awesome to see as well as Rob Bramblett and Odis Sisk's aerial rescues. From top to bottom this was a murderers row of amazing climbers.

PS

You can go ahead and count me in for next year Morice, I can't wait to get back and hang with the CAA

The sushi was rather good as well for those who likes techno with their fish

How did I know Rich found a sushi bar? Rich you're quite the guy and I wish I had the time and resources to travel and venture with you to all this competitions to see all the different climbers from all over. Everyone has there own style and techniques that they've practiced and use and it's amazing to see that from everyone. Sounds like I missed a good one and if any of you guys are heading to Ohio I'm sure I'll meet you there.

Getting to talk to and trade techniques with guys like Ben Poteet, Kevin Bingham, Odis Sisk, Lucas Drew, Rob Bramblett, Ben Absher, Keith Pancake, Matt Hodges, John Parmenter, Eddie Simril, Cory, Chris, Cormac, Alex, John, Jeffrey Fabian, Tom Dunlap, Richard, Morice, Scott Prophet, Vince, Stephan, and everyone else is nothing but fun and I learned a ton from everyone there. There is no doubt that these comps help to recharge the morale , especially when you are dealing with the slower season (well for us up north anyway) I always look forward to these events and hope that I can continue to participate in them.

Apologies Keith. I had met so many new faces Saturday that I couldn't remember who was who. Especially with all the "Buzz" names.
