Hi folks,
I just got back from Eastover Park, as I had to leave early for expected company from out of town. Was great fun, and glad to see this event happen closer to home.
Thanks for pulling it off.
While I was there I noticed that during the aerial rescue competition, noone made any mention of suspension trauma, or how long the victim had been suspended injured.
I would guess that noone completed a successfull rescue because of this, lowering the victim completely to the ground flat on their back.
This was my first attendance, and I wonder if any competitions include the possibility of suspension trauma, as I think it should.
Just my opinion but, I think it should be made as realistic as possible.
The victim may have been killed during every rescue.
I mentioned to one of the climbers the fact that I didn't see anything mentioned in relation to suspension trauma, he said "as a matter of fact, you're right".
I would have signed up for the comp., but I was late to sign up a few days ago, and the 25 climbers had already signed up but, I still would have liked to buy a shirt or hat representing the event but, there were none that I seen.
