SAKA out of the World Cup

I got to the end of the first half. Even though Mbappé missed a penalty I was confident they’d get through.

Interesting one tonight, would love to see the Belgians win, I find the Spanish style of football a bit dull.
 
Is it not the Spanish team who have allowed no goals this tournament? Lamine was shut down last game by the left side fullback (until the defender hurt himself and had to exit). If the Belgians win the whole thing, maybe it would ease the pain of defeat for the US. Whatever the outcome, this has been a great World Cup.

As it goes, up to now it has been a good World Cup (and my first remembered WC was 1974) lots of naysayers beforehand hoping for failure, but the US/Canada/Mexico have put up a good show, great stadiums, well marshalled, good organisation.
The big name stars, Messi, Kane, Mbappé etc. have, by and large, lived up to the hype
The fans have played their part, well behaved, having fun and winning friends.
So far so good.
 
You are likely to see the first really acrimonious, no love lost, match of the WC.
My hope is Messi’s age will finally catch up with him, and we wipe the floor with them.

I vividly remember 86, the scars will never truly heal.
 
Gordon scores, via team play. Pickford saves at close range, as it goes into the last quarter. Can't count out Argentina.
