Hey guys, if you haven't seen them check out the new Giant BMG Edition loaders Top Notch Equipment is selling. Probably the best compact articulating loader on the market right now for tree work. No plastic panels like the Avants had, and with the dual tire option, you can fit through a 36" gate...
Its called a shelf cut. It creates a little ledge for the piece to kind of sit on so it doesn't roll or tip too much as it settles in the rigging. Just makes for a smoother pick.
Yep, Dad still has the family business going. Dayton is only 2 hours away from home and we work 4 day weeks, so often times I'll go back home to KY if Dad is busy and work with him Friday-Sunday.
Whats up TreeBuzz!! Long time no talk! Man, its been awhile and a lot has changed, both here and for me! After a lot of traveling, I ended up taking a full time position here at Tree Care Inc and I couldn't be happier. Working with this knuckle boom crane is bad ass! We're back to making videos...
FYI, Royal Truck should be avoided at all costs. Not a good company to deal with at all. The stuff they do to a truck is unreal. We have a first hand account of it, and a good friend had a buddy that worked for them that told us some horror stories. Our chip truck had a bondoed hood, needed a...

Midsota makes both, to your specs. Very happy with the trailer they made me so far.
I love how your camera man said at the end 'like a charm, unless it rolled into the street.'
Why didn't you secure the trunk when you made the release cut? What made you so sure it would remain standing after the release cut was made?
If the trunk had failed, and since you had no other safety...

Been busy with work. Its just Dad, bro, and I, but we've been busier than the last few years and a lot more productive with some recent equipment purchases. I drop in from time to time and try to post when I can.

So what I saw was an old hollow linden fully exposed in an open field, I would say the tree was extremely prone to failure. Not having laid eyes on this tree in person I'm only assuming that the failure point would be the butress or lower trunk. By putting a bunch of cables in the...
