TCI's Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

Hey Mark, where'd you pick up that hose from? I'm assuming you cut it down one side and then use zip ties or metal clamps to hold it together? I've had small 1" branches somehow getting in between the cylinders and lines on a couple occasions and can see how this would help prevent that. Why don't you have the hoses running the whole length of the cylinder and lines?

I get the hose from a local hydraulic shop that has all different hoses. It is for a concrete pump truck. I don't cut it lengthwise. I slide it from the non-mounted end of the cylinder over the cylinder and the steel line. I don't cover the whole cylinder just the steel lines. I then hose clamp it in place. This is enough to protect the lines.

What size hose did you pick up? I'm sure I could make some measurements and figure it out, but it looks like you've already done the hard work. :)

Mark Poor, how long from starting tree work till you got your first knuckle boom? I am very expressed with your business and you must offer a great service, very Impressive!

Whats up TreeBuzz!! Long time no talk! Man, its been awhile and a lot has changed, both here and for me! After a lot of traveling, I ended up taking a full time position here at Tree Care Inc and I couldn't be happier. Working with this knuckle boom crane is bad ass! We're back to making videos again though, and here's the first one I've done with the k boom since being here. For reference, that isn't me rigging and cutting, I was working the ground running the grapple on this one. David Meurer is the bucket operator in this one.
