    Gulf Hagas by Moosehead Lake. Super beautiful and rugged trail, accessed by logging rds in Northern Maine and goes through a stand of huge white pines called the Hermitage. Never take enough photos, but stunning spot and shear cliffs, must be deafening at high water!

    Newer BDB and it's been great. The very first climb it crept a bit and iirc I just ddrt decended over an oak branch to brake it in and it's been faultless since. I'm 95% srt and similar weight.

    The hitachi looks like 6k lbs and max lift 2.6k lbs, wonder what lift at 5-6 feet for loading. ~$40k @ 84 mo 0% in WA, pretty sweet rig! Would it be better for your situation/terrain vs a tractor with a winch or grapple mini? Have never used an excavator for tree work except for pulling some stumps.

    I agree, any time I don't have an immediate means of exit is not a fav. Very occasionally use tail with Blakes, but a small diameter long lanyard in a ditty bag feels cleaner if planned ahead. But I am more of a scramble out there and get it done climber, which is fast but not always comfortable...

    Had my second inguinal mesh repair a month ago, was laid out hard for ~2weeks and super rough shape. Did a pretty strenuous hike with boulder scrabbling last weekend and felt decent but sore. The irritation/soreness by the mesh is such a weird feeling, kinda like having velcro under your skin...
