    Saw in my leg

Climbers saws should remain climbers saws, however I get more annoyed when a 25” bar gets rocked - just the number of teeth that needs filing...

2 in 1 Wire Core Flip Line?

One additional tip, on Phoenix palms, cut the fronds in two places. First cut the frond off just outboard of where the spines finish and become leaflets. Second cut at the base wherever the sculpted trunk radius/bowl is. That way groundys can clean up the long fronds quickly without damage to...

2 in 1 Wire Core Flip Line?

The missing out is the cockroaches, mice and rat droppings etc, and the dust and microfibres choking you to death when the sawdust from the chainsaw/silky isn’t blowing in your face. And if course the spines from those species that have a target on your back - my arms and feet are filled with...

2 in 1 Wire Core Flip Line?

These are good, but with palms I find SRT basal tie methods better overall. Just throw a lifeline over the crown and climb up (with lanyard around trunk just in case). When up there there’s no messing around reconfiguring Tie in Points etc. as your prusik or ascender can go as high as the rope...

    Rooster next door

In Middle East even in centre of city, there can be a dozens or more spread out within clear donkey hearing distance, when one starts, they all chime in...

    Rooster next door

They are sort of cool, and sound tropical. Just don’t have a bench or seat etc underneath a tree that they roost in. Nothing worse than raining peacock droppings whilst entertaining friends...

    Removable Chipper Box Roofs

Many have tried this, and the removeable sections work but are a little manpower and time consuming to bolt on/off. Folding ones are a fantastic idea until the edges or tracks get bent or impacted by logs/booms and becomes a hassle to use. Open top works well if happy to keep replacing...

    Removable Chipper Box Roofs

Best removable tops for chip boxes have a lifting point for use with gantry or crane, to lift entire top off truck as has been stated removing section tops secured with pins/bolts/screws is a PITA. Also a method of securing your lifeline over the box to arrange a TIP to connect crâne sling to...

Would you climb this angry tree?

Maybe it’s a translation issue? Maybe it’s saying you must shed your foliage if you want to survive?

    Biodegradable Bar oil and mix

I have tried vege oil and seen the bar baked finish you describe. I am wondering if the gumming up is the heating cycles from multiple short useages between fills? Like what happens to deep fryers when a scum forms on the walls before they purée it into gravy?

Does anyone use a levelled laser for hedging?

Will chase up the Spectra laser - sounds very workable. Not worried about immediate damage, but have had peripheral exposure that has ‘stunned’ my eye and made it unable to focus for 30 seconds or so. They aren’t supposed to damage eyes but seems strange it did that - so I am wary...

Tree Appears Healthy, But Ants Up and Down Trunk

Have been observing some trees in my area with way worse ant trails up and down the bark for about eight years thinking they would decline as there are other variables stressing the trees - yet they are surviving and even prospering. Wouldn’t be concerned.
