Supersaver is definitely very cool. Gear bag looks pretty good as well, can't say if it's better than Courant or Notch Access from just the pictures though. I would never buy that saddle, too many things going on in the front, but bringing any capabilities to the table that make it worth it...
I've always carried a leatherman wave with me, and use it quite often for cutting slings, rope and zipties, or opening shackles and screwlinks if the knipex cobra that pretty much lives on my sequoia is not there for some reason. The wave is usually in the lower right pocket of my clogger...
If you're doing removals, spikes are a must pretty much. At least when dealing with conifers, on deciduous trees you can get away without them mire easily, but they're still almost essential in my opinion.
The thing I like most is the clean nose, unlike a vault or caritool. Transporter has that too though, and is probably the best option overall, but expensive.
I'm trying out the Camp Kilo on the right side, like it so far, it's not quite as large as the large Caritool, but you can still fit a rear handle or the handle bar of a chainsaw in there easily. I couldn't mount it as high as the caritool unfortunately, because it stick up too far and digs into...
Yep, manufactured in sep. 2020
I do like it, but it is much less comfortable than the Treemotion, which is my private harness. Especially when on spurs with a backhandle, or really streched out sideways on a limbwalk, you'll notice the not so great backpad.
I didn't have much choice for my work...
I love the belay loop on the Sequoia SRT! Very comfortable to sit in. Not great for attaching the Top, which I have to use, but as a suspension point it's great. Much better than the one on the Treerex, that is pretty much unusable...
Let me add my european perspective to that. Everyone at the club I shoot at uses a PCP, all of them have their issues. I am the only one shooting a spring gun (sidelever), and I have never had a single problem with it. No difference in accuracy either. Of course all our rifles are match grade...
Never really had that problem before, using a hitch, but I happened to spend way less money last month that I thought I would have too, so I think I'll treat myself to the swivel version anyway...
Ok, I'll be running it on a wire-core primarily, my current one feels like 11mm, although it's marketed as 13mm. Don't really need anything for rope lanyards, love my cinch, and if I need a CE system I use a hitch with hitch climber, that's the most versatile for me.
The primary reason I'm...
I'll just drop this here, I wonder what you guys think of this. Skip to about the halfway point if you don't understand german.
Short description: This guy is putting the rope in the "wrong" way, this leads to more friction than the normal configuration, which is useful since you can drop light...
Let me throw the Edelrid Treerex into the game. I've used one for two days, and although it was the wrong size, I loved it. If I had to get a new saddle, that would be it, mainly because of the factory adjustable bridge (certified!). But it was also super comfortable, not quite as good as my TM...
Might I suggest the skylotec sirius instead of the clutch or I'D? Works on most rope diameters you would find while tree climbing (up to 12mm), Is much more user friendly than the I'D, works on older and more worn ropes, and feels very durable and has an anti-panic feature. The last two points...
