    APTA-tude adjustment

I was surprised at you having 230 psi in the chamber from a 16 gm CO2 cartridge and therefore at your warning about gauging/reducing the pressure when using a standard APTA. I had not expected it to be near this high so I had never tried it. Curiosity got the best of me and I had to give it a...

what weather reporting service should we trust for planning?

^^^This. 25 years in commercial construction with 15 of that overseeing all field activities of 80-150 people taught me to check a couple of services and judge for myself what was coming and when. I got very good at it. If you simply rely on the forecast, you might as well flip a coin.

    Rope runner with Haas

I normally attach my knee ascender at the same point the RR is attached. Usually a chest harness or something similar.

I can't see the video. It is marked "Private".

    SRT redirect practice

Thanks. I'm suddenly wondering why I use one BDB when I climb and leave the other one on the ground. Time to re-think.

    Documenting my hand-sewn eye process

Yep...I'm confident I could hang "in the garage" with only 10 stitches holding the eye. Not gonna do that in a tree.:sorprendido3: You're killing me.

If it can happen, it probably will.

Glad you're OK as well. As a recreational climber, so far I've had the luxury of only climbing on TIP's I can see and be confident of. Many times it has required 10x binoculars and a lot of moving around to find a sight tunnel. There have been a few times when a cinched canopy anchor was also...

Arborist cuts into beehive - Bees attack his Gopro (and Him)

Two questions...with all the bees buzzing around him before he made the last cut, what did he think was going to happen? and why didn't he go straight to ground to get away instead of stopping on the roof?

    New England Escalator...

I received 150' of escalator today and gave it a quick climb. The RR really did run nicely on it with the same bollard adjustment as I use on the Yale 11.7's. That's a nice bonus I didn't expect. As expected, compared to other "static" ropes I have, static is an understatement, but as others...

And make sure you bury the "lock" (where the thread from each side loops together) in the center of the rope. Not on the surface.

    Documenting my hand-sewn eye process

The first pass is basically a "basting stitch" to keep everything in place for the subsequent passes. I catch core strands with it but not a lot of them. The second pass is wider than the first and the third pass is wider than the second. At that point the added material makes the rope so dense...

Climbing boots for more grip while limb walking

I have the Arbpro Clip N Step and the sole does have better grip than my grippiest hiking boots (which are pretty good) and for that, I love them. My only problem with them is that where the left front strap end on the left boot connects, something is slightly wrong with it and it has an...

    Compact Bulldog Bone

Hmmm....it's just another Yale 11.7mm. I've been very happy using the 3/4" bollard with Arrowfrog and Aztec Orange and Green. I'm about 190+ lbs geared up. Which bollard did you use?

You may (or may not) benefit from saddle adjustments to aid in a comfortable sitting position.
