New England Escalator...

Ya, I see your point with such a short section as in a bridge. I just figured I'd just throw the information I had been told out there. I feel some people just buy rope that is listed as a climbing line and don't necessarily think through or even be given the information as to what limitations it might have and when I heard people had started to use escalator as a srt work positioning line I was intrigued so I asked if that was cool and was told NO. granted that was awhile ago and perhaps with the new devices it might be considered acceptable.

I received 150' of escalator today and gave it a quick climb. The RR really did run nicely on it with the same bollard adjustment as I use on the Yale 11.7's. That's a nice bonus I didn't expect.

As expected, compared to other "static" ropes I have, static is an understatement, but as others have stated, the RR provided just the right amount of softening to my stops. Kind of the best of both worlds....static rope for the ascent with a multi-scender providing the "stretch" needed for stops that don't break your back.

These are first impressions from a quick climb, but the escalator/RR combination appears to be very interesting.
