Hi Steve, ln you can only have one rope situation, would you prefer to have a Teufelberger Sirius 16mm running through a isc 5/8 block (100kn) attached with 5/8 Yale multisling (mbs7720kg) rigging down light to medium limbs and negative rigging 200lb- 500lb chunks or a 14mm Sirius for the same...
I have rigging similar size topps on spurs with Samson 9/16th stable braid 5/8th Yale multisling for ISC 5/8 small red block, Buckingham 111 portawrap with 18mm Yale multisling. No problems, but l pushed the envelope a bit l would say, l never rig that heavy when it's so easy and safer to climb...
Beautiful holistic explanation on Petzl openable rings Greg L, l love my Petzl Sequoia and am waiting for delivery of adjustable bridge, looking forward to trying it out, have any of you Treebuzzers experience with same, also can one use it on left side of saddle, thanks for your time.
Thanks Rico, my eyes are watering reading your review on time spent in the Buckingham saddle 5.0 at Bailey's. Thanks again for your honesty and help, l will surely consider this
Thanks Rico for sharing your thoughts and experience on being a saddle whore. I have an opened mind on saddle brands, but no termination knot bridge for me. I will pull the trigger on the Buckingham if l get just a little push. Thanks again for your time.
Thanks Deevo for your interest and suggestion. I don't like any saddle with a termination knot on the rope bridge, l like the fixed bridge style on the Buckingham, also the many rated loop tie-ins. I have a deep hankering for this saddle, l hope to hear from some climber who has worked in one...
Speaking of good saddles, l have climbed in Petzl Sequoia for the last five years. Great saddle, sometimes the legstraps pinch a bit, l am thinking of upgrading to a Buckingham Master 5.0. I notice how the legstraps are buckled high up on the thigh- crotch area instead of low on the thigh like...
I love your site, its both educational and inspirational,
I have a question for you and TreeBuzz ers,
I have the latest version Petzl sequoia climbing harness (not srt model), l am climbing lately with big saws so my saddle tends to slide down alot, l definitely need shoulder straps,
Petzl...
ThQUOTE="TimBr, post: 523383, member: 9161"]Hey, @Tree worker9! You are probably the first Tree Buzzer from Ireland! The first I recall, anyway.
It would be cool if you could post some photos of the scenery in your country. I hear that it is just beautiful.
Tim
I have to agree with you...
ThankQUOTE="CutHighnLetFly, post: 523334, member: 6626"]@Tree worker9 Sirius is a little more supple brand new, stable braid has a bit of a stiffer feel to it until it's broken in.
For that price difference I personally dont think you are doing yourself a disservice by going with the Sirius line...
The Emerald Isle, ( 40 shades of green ) Eire, lreland.
Yes excellent point, l do use Teufelberger CE lanyard and Pulley saver and are teriffic products no doubt. I did get estimates from two very reputable Arborist suppliers in the USA on price of my beloved Samson rope and shipping. The rope...
Yes you are.
61metres ( 200 ft ) Teufelberger Sirius 14mm 114 euro
61metres ( 200 ft ) Samson stable braid 14mm 234 euro
seeing it on paper, l ask myself, " Am I Mental" for even considering.
I still have a big hankering for the SAMSON SB, l wish someone would talk me out of it.
or hopefully...
Thanks SomethingWitty for your view,
l guess l will have to get used to the milking and break out the whipping twine.
Still on the fence between the Samson and the Sirius though.
Thanks for your valuable input CutHighnLetFly.
Just another thought, l like a rope to feel girthy and weighty in hand ( for the relevant diameter of course),
as l have not the opportunity to visually inspect or handle these ropes. Would
you say that the Samson is heaver in hand and seems...
Hi there SomethingWitty,
You sound like you know your way around rigging rope.
My dilemma, I am considering purchasing either Teufelberger Sirius 14mm bull rope or Samson stable braid 14mm bull rope, l hear much more positives about the Samson rope, but of course, the SAMSON is 120 euro more...
