    Oak Bramble?

In circumstances where there is a high danger, they should. The example I gave above is borderline fraud. Insurance isn't a 'maintenance' package it's there for unexpected emergencies. Where insurance adjusters need.to stay in their lane: they need to stop telling people they need to remove...

    Oak Bramble?

Several years ago after walking through the woods with a client we were standing next to his house and there was a big nasty oak in bad shape hanging over his house: "I noticed this tree - you should really find someone to remove it ASAP. That's not what I do, so not trying to talk you into...

    What's killing arborvitae?

These latest...some (don't know which from afar) had partially uprooted about 8 years ago and we straightened them... That tells me the rooting situation is not ideal for these. But still ..they've made it this far. It's another in a pattern dying trees in short window of time

    What's killing arborvitae?

Saw these from across the field at a nearby HS. I've worked on some trees for this client. I'll see if they want to pay for samples.

    Oak Bramble?

Is that an arborjet plug? Sure looks like its in dead wood...is that the "oak wilt treatment"? In deadwood it does no good. Also, everything I have seen says oak wilt is best treated with macroinjection, not micro. That That sure looks like Inonotus dryadeus - which Chris Luley counts among...

TRAQ "manual" vs BMP 3rd ed.?

I think it used to be "renew" every 5...but maybe that was 3. I think it was 5 because pretty sure I've only done it twice. Now it's full retake every 7. Which kinda sucks. More than the cost is the 2 extra days of missed work. Maybe I'll see if I can take it in Texas or Florida in January.

TRAQ "manual" vs BMP 3rd ed.?

Last I knew they do not include the BMP...just the manual. But times they are a changing. No more "recert" for TRAQ, it's going to be a full retake (7 years IIRC). So there may be other changes too.

    Anybody use Castellari Pole Saw

Looking for parts to keep 2 Silky Hayate saws that have been workhorses. The simple button that locks in place came out. Apparently not in stock. While looking I came across this at @arbsession - curious if anybody can compare to the Silkys (or Notch)...

    Volunteer Trees for growing

Both.... easier to keep alive in the ground. Easier to move out of pots. I'd use air pots or fabric bags instead of traditional pots to limit encircling roots. Instead of digging up volunteers to put in pots, collect seeds and germinate straight in the pot

    Safety Incentive Program

I don't think they are a good idea...but I worked on a commercial site/corporate offices. Had to go through their training. I remember so many people walking by saying "be safe" and the like. Even had the guy supervising our contract call to.say someone complained about a safety violation (it...

eastern white pine, lower third yellowing/thinning fast...not sure what it could be?

On one or two of the pics, I thought maybe Pine Bark adelgid. But that should have shown up on some of your close-up pictures. See if there is any on the trunk, or maybe the back side of the trunk? It would usually be on the underside if it's on a branch Based on your pictures of the...

Root Collar Excavation/ Stem-girdling Root Pruning thread

Do you have good options for compressor rental? I bought a compressor pretty quickly after buying the AirKnife. It is great for even small jobs...even a single tree that has been over-mulched for 10 years. But small jobs are really hard to price approximately when you have to rent. Not just...
