    Smallish Saw Rec

I’ll see your Ported 241 & raise you a Ported 261. 81dl .325” with an 8 pin rim. I was advised to sharpen the .325” with the 13/64” or 7/32” files by another member & it works wonderfully well with this saw. Regular 3/8” seems to load it more with a 20” than I like: the .325” seems to...

    CMC lift failure

Non-Destructive Testing/ NDT, Non-Destructive Examination. Mag particle, Dye Penetrant, X ray is another acceptable method. Quick Link to explain better than I can. https://amarineblog.com/2019/11/03/nde-vs-ndt-ndi-understanding/ On Industrail jobs where welding is concerned, there are 2...

    Shop talk

I do tree work as it is convenient for me: my primary role involves Construction Oversight. Extreme delays are the norm right now & if you have building cost nailed down you are money ahead to complete it now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Shop talk

The 8’x10’ manual roll up door at my house was $750 installed with me installing the angle to hang the can from. $1,800 mentioned by the other member for an electric is very reasonable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Chip box

If you trim the tail a bit can you get more dump angle? 12’ would be good for that truck I would think. I would advise an angle iron frame 2”x 2” or 3”x3” x3/16” or 1/4” thick with either 1/8” sheet steel or 2x wood for the sides. Look at the tag on your door & see what your GVWR is: as...

Long bar on a top handle saw.

Yes! There are 3 different coils for the 088/880 along with different carbs. The 084s were more spirited out of the box but the 880s are detuned to the point they suck. Ported they are a beast, but they should be for 123cc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Long bar on a top handle saw.

880s are absolute pigs in Stock form. If you aren’t going to have your saw modded & you need a large saw, 395xpw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

[emoji1787] I don’t Need Stihl vs. Husky advice. I did attempt to add a bit of humor to the discussion. I’ve had poor experiences with multiple Husqvarna OPE so I stick to ECHO or Stihl these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I wouldn’t trade the bar & Clutch cover off my 261 ver II for a 550. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

A stock MS261CM ver II is a solid saw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Long bar on a top handle saw.

I used to run the same Bar & Chain on 026s. I’ve sold the 026s & now have a 261. The best way I can put it is the Stock MS261CM is as stout as a Ported 026. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Best saw bar??

Top Handle? Sugi or Stihl. 661- Stihl ES & Sugi for regular weight. Tsumara for reduced weight, but honestly, the Oregons are cheaper & they last ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
