Today....

It’s been windy around here and today was no exception, old english ivy covered red cedars got hammered last week or so and we got the call to bring them down safely

People! PLEASE be calling us to remove codominant stems before they become advanced issues. Grrrrr. Too many otherwise beautiful trees becoming liabilities.

Man, this really lit me up. I straight up forgot that this is also work, but I am so ecstatic to be doing it that it becomes easy to forget.
It’s proof that the intention behind something is the make or break factor. I’m right there with you…we are hopeful to begin a decent project here at our new place. It will be life changing in a good way for our family. That feeling gives me a great deal of energy, excitement, and motivation to boot.

What a cool way to get to the job!!! Not to mention a Beautiful Place!!
Our town is a beautiful one, over 200 islands and over 200 mi of coastline. We’ve been doing winter work on this 190ac. island for 5 yrs and generally have the whole place to ourselves. At height of land there used to be a sub-spotter tower from WW2.

A few inches of snow yesterday turned into a couple more inches of rain over night, then back to below freezing early this morning. Turned into a beautiful day though after waking up to ice caked onto every surface. Had to use a blow drier to get the truck bins open.
Speedlining some limbs over a house on a fun white pine. And someone else is doing the cleanup Lot’s of folks cut trees around here, but not so many climb, so I get the benefit of picking up a lot of these no cleanup jobs.IMG_3448.jpeg

Felled a crazy leaning Silver Maple today, angle pretty close to 45°. This was one of two that looked this way. Removed end weight and storm damaged limbs from one and felled the other. Shallow notch, plunge cut hinge to about 1", finished the back cut from the plunge.
