Nice plan with the 2x climbing systems. I’m sure you evaluated the potential for the spar to stand back up. I’m curious with the sling placement in that photo, just how long was the piece you’re rigging? Were you standing them as they came off to limit movement over the roof or did they have enough chart to rake the rest off the stump?

We had a tiny landing zone and threading down between other trees so pieces had to come down somewhat vertical. Did the whole thing in 8’-10’ pieces.
Didn’t worry about it standing back up, the root plate didn’t really lift in the back it sank in the front. Weird.

I hear ya on working around other trees and with the tight LZ. It seems that’s about all I can get these days. It’s less about smashing grass and more about NOT smashing in leaching fields or septic tanks.
