Today....

Why’s that, assuming a stable environment?
I did work at a guy's place that was being rebuilt because he had left a battery in a leaf blower that had begun malfunctioning suddenly, and it caught fire while he was away, and got a call that his house was on fire. The investigator felt sure that that had been the ignition source, but told the homeowner that he would have a hard time suing, since there's no way to be certain beyond a shadow of a doubt.

This conversation reminds me of a guy I knew who burned a brand new home to the ground using a penetrating wood oil called Penofin Ultra. Penofin is an amazing product that can produce stunning results, but it is very volatile so you must store all applicators with the assumption that they will self combust in the middle of the night.

Nice recovery job!!! But the question remains, How the F*** do you flip a boat right there?
It was supremely windy with a head wind the guy had a tiller style boat so he’s sitting in the rear with no weight anywhere else and small wave lifted the front out of the water the wind caught it and history was made lol only funny cause all he got was wet and cold, no injuries.

I could have used some dampener branches when I speedlined the last limb on this yard tree. It was quite a ride.

I had used that limb to hang most of the other limbs I removed.

I removed all the limbs so I could fell what was left of the tree into a rather narrow opening. We felt the tree was just too close to the house.
I know you climb for fun but, I hope that was a paying job!

IMG_3511.jpegIMG_3510.jpegDid some work today clearing hazard trees at a “glamping” resort. The maintenance manager told me that peak season some of their tents rent out for $900/night! Mostly people coming up from New York, Boston, etc. Bonkers if you ask me. Wish I’d known that before I told him my rate, haha.

Typical overgrown spruce/fir forest around here, with most of the trees having somewhere around 10% live crown ratio, so lots of dead/dying, not to mention storm and porcupine damage.

There was one dead codominant fir with a rotten union where I decided to drop the leads separately and opened up a red squirrel nest. Fortunately I didn’t hit the babies with the saw! Then I got to watch mama relocate them all one by one. Hopefully she has another good spot where they can survive.

Got into a nice Shellbark Hickory today with a friend of mine. Just as ai was telling him that pictures rarely do a tree any justice he grabbed this shot. T’was a very pleasant morning climb. I worked the lead I’m on in the photo and everything above and to the right. I reduced those by 10% because those leads are borderline included and quite long and exposed. Maybe I want that Kinisi even more now???
