Today....

I started removing dead limbs from three pines in a neighbor's yard Monday, and finished up Wednesday. I made five climbs in all.

This tree had one broken limb hanging by a thread, which I was able to cut easily. The other dead limb was completely broken off and tangled in some lower branches. I had to cut some pieces off to free it up, attach a rope, and then pull it down after I was on the ground.

I had to make three climbs on the largest tree to get the stuff in these two pics, two on one side with a break for lunch in between, and then one on the other side the next day to finish up.

I made the second climb on Wednesday to get mostly small stuff from the third tree.

I'm just amazed at the amount of wood I've been able to cut with the Carona 10" folding saw I got from Lowe's for twenty bucks. I carry a spray can of penetrating oil to keep it from getting gummed up. It's hard to imagine that an expensive Silky would be much better.

Thanks, it’s a Palfinger PK40002 102’vertical, 90’ horizontal. Couldn’t of gotten my stick crane into where we got it to get that tree off and used it.
Man you have a lot of beautiful big boy toys Deevo...Your a stronger man than I because just thinking about your overhead would keep me up at night.....You guys staying pretty busy despite all the insanity?

Congrats @deevo. Glad you finally got your mek. You’re a much braver and bolder man than I for getting that rig without a cab protector. I know we just got off the phone but now it’s in print:birra:
I was looking for the bow down emoji but this one works as well. Hoping to see you again in November since all other plans have gotten scrapped

Thanks for that, yes we are booked for almost 3 months right now, all my other equipment is paid for, this is my only monthly payment, my biggest purchase ever, scared, nervous and excited all at once:sorprendido3: I have great customers who know the price of good tree work also. I’m still getting lots of calls for tree work also. The crane end of things for construction has slowed right down but that’s ok for now. I like doing trees Better with the cranes.

Thanks Rich, i know I had a great teacher @SJ_Treeguy I won’t be booming over the cab with any dead stuff ( I hope) yes hoping the tree expo won’t be affected after this whole thing either little buddy (y)

Looks like that truck is already making money @deevo

1st months payment.....Check!
Yes indeed I’m booked for 2 months just on the new crâne alone, has been a great year since January, and even in these crazy times we are slammed with work which I’m so grateful for having amazing customers and staff! :) The treemek will definitively make the jobs go quicker and more efficiently. Once I get more comfortable and familiar with the controls I’ll be like @SJ_Treeguy and @Gerasimek mode

I'm essentially out of work right now due to COVID, so I've just been working around the house. The last two days have been cleaning up around one of the ponds:

Tuesday I was about sixty feet up getting this hanging dead limb down when a friend came by with his camera.

This morning I took down a section of fence in a neighbor's yard so I could drop this dead pine into another neighbor's yard.

The drop was nearly perfect with no damage to the nearby trees and bushes.

I cut the tree high because the messed up base wouldn't make a good hinge. I cut it off near the ground later.

Of course the tree exploded when it hit the ground, and I spent some time cleaning up the mess and putting the fence panel back up.

Both neighbors are happy, and I feel really good about how well the job went.
