Dude, your hired! Great work Winchman..Tuesday I was about sixty feet up getting this hanging dead limb down when a friend came by with his camera.

This morning I took down a section of fence in a neighbor's yard so I could drop this dead pine into another neighbor's yard.

The drop was nearly perfect with no damage to the nearby trees and bushes.

I cut the tree high because the messed up base wouldn't make a good hinge. I cut it off near the ground later.

Of course the tree exploded when it hit the ground, and I spent some time cleaning up the mess and putting the fence panel back up.

Both neighbors are happy, and I feel really good about how well the job went.
I hope you're charging something for these neighborly deeds!
I would never have guessed you were 75. Everything you said makes perfect sense in the context of your age. At this rate, you'll probably start doing climbing competitions at 80!I've thought about it, but decided it wouldn't be worth it. The city here is really bad about making sure anyone doing business gets a license, which means you need to deal with insurance, record keeping, taxes, etc. I avoid all that by not charging, and I stay busy, get some exercise, and have some fun. Just being able to get out and do this stuff at age 75 is enough of a reward.

One of these days I'm going to take a ride and look you up.I've thought about it, but decided it wouldn't be worth it. Looks like pretty good crack at the base, they are two ratchet straps to help hold it together while he gets top out....at least thats what it looks like to me. I utilized the ratchet strap method the other day on a red oakCjM, please tell us about your anchoring system. I can't tell from the picture what you're using.

That's a very cool thing you doThere is a small community playground/green space in my neighborhood across the street from my house. I voluntarily mow it, prune the Rose of Sharons and deadwood the Norway Maples, and weed the garden because I have the tools and know-how, plus I enjoy it. There is an apple that is in rapid decline with a bunch of dead limbs and a couple large snags hanging close to some play equipment so I set a line in a large Honey Locust above the apple and got rid of a bunch of dead wood. Left some big stuff because I only used my hand saw. Before and after:
