2nd day out with our new lift and first time we used it as a “bucket truck”

both jobs went flawless the new lift is just amazing not complicated at all but a learning curve

The reach is simply amazing!!!!

Have to say 2nd day and adjusting smoothly from our other bucket truck and nifty
And our 550 pulled our stumper and mats and I didn’t even know it was behind me

130' doug fir, had a co-dom top break out probably a year ago and in the wind the other day, customer literally heard it cracking and got scared. No room to fell it whole due to property lines, so I spured up it, threw two 30,000 pound ratchet straps on to hold it together, climbed above that to get into clean wood, took a 50' top into the woods in order to remove any danger and called it a day. I'll come back in a year or two when he wants to make firewood and drop the stick then.

Not as sketchy as it might look, I got the hinge small as it started to go over and that meant pretty minimal forces on the stick. Obviously I'd never do this without the serious ratchet straps in place, but with those I had zero concerns about the tree.

That will be my set up someday! 2-3 man operation.
Thanks man. how long is your flat bed? are you happy with the size hauling the lift? I'm planning to hunt for a flat bed F550 in the next couple years before getting the lift. It'll will be a 7.3L, 4 wheel drive. don't really care about crew cab. right now have a F550 with 14' chip box and a F350 with regular bed for towing, all 7.3

Essential work over the last two days:

A ~70' fir uprooted and wedged between a few other trees. It was hanging over a new fence and next to the customers trail in the woods, so I had to climb two of the trees it was contacting to relieve the pressure and shorten it, then made a cut at the root plate that dropped the stick to the ground and dropped the root plate back flat again.

Hanging pulleys in opposing firs for an old guys ham radio antenna that will stretch over the house/driveway.

Taking down a very dead grand fir a few feet from a house.

Installing a new antenna for a neighborhoods wireless internet system.
