Newbie so why not share my day today (errr the past week and half).
cut and paint stump in the woods for the city. We are targeting invasive vines, Norway maples, multiflora rose and ailanthus. Pretty monotonous work but a good cause. Place is full of hazard trees though; snags, hangers and big dead trees. Has you looking up constantly.

The community has one road in and out, and the road creates a 4-5 mile long loop with 2 bridges crossing over 2 different creeks. The bridges are integral to their survival.....The gear was a very nice gesture on their part....They are having a little winter solstice gathering on the new bridge tonight which the bride and I will be gladly be attending...
Cool. Sounds like a nice place to live.
It is a beautiful place for sure, but like most places there are plenty of nice folks, and a few not so nice folks....

The last winter Soltice party I attended was way out on the mesa west of the Rio Grande Gorge outside Taos NM. A bunch of savage, outlaw, off the grid lunatics who all looked like characters out of a Madd Max Movie. 20 below zero. Animal sacrifices to the Gawds. Hot springs & naked hippie chicks. Waska & tattoo's. Fucking Heaven!!!

Side job yesterday. Prune, Cleaning out a small black cherry and mulberry and remove a bigger branch that was rubbing and severe damage from it. Fun climb.
