I was at a get together in northern New Mexico a few yrs back when someone slipped me an "edible" chocolate without my knowledge... The evening ended with me and my dog Floyd being pulled over in possibly the most dangerous city in America (Espanola) for a gringo to go to jail at 2:30 am on a Saturday night. Knowing there was a very real possibility that Floyd and I might not survive the night I made the choice to be completely honest with the trooper. He believed my story, trusted that I could keep my shitt together for a little longer, and he made the decision the risk his career and give me a police escort to my cabin in Abiquiú which was over a 30 minute drive...One of the most profound and impactful gestures any human being has ever done for me, and we stay in touch till this day....
It turns out the chocolate was made with synthetic cannabinoids and I took me over 3 weeks to feel even remotely human...Moral of the story.. Dont eat the weed!

Synthetic canabinoids could be anything. Dangerous unspecified chemicals sold as potpourri and not for human consumption. A lot of people had a very bad time fuckin with Spice and K2. Brain damage, coma, psychosis and suicide is the tip of the iceberg.
Regarding recreational drugs in general, I tend to preach more on harm reduction, rather than total abstinence, but if it’s unknown it’s impossible to use responsibly. So called “research chemicals” and analogs of other drugs are practically (sometimes literally) poison.
Real marijuana edibles can be great, or sometimes nothing special, but not really dangerous if one practices a little responsibility.
