Oh, don't encourage him! If you can't justify new gear prices then you're not running your business right. The BDB is cool but very basic and quite limited. The akimbo will improve on that. I hope Jamie does make some money because he's a nice honest guy who deserves to get paid. And of course it's not gonna win any competition because it's not allowed by the ISA anyways! The Charlotte would allow and encourage it however. Earhart and Kilpatrick will continue to whip all our asses, not because of their gear but because of their attitude and athleticism.

i feel like I maybe foolishly optimistic but ive never set out to dupe anyone. i started out with the full intention to handle everything myself, but then i realized that there was no way that i could produce a device of the quality i wanted. RE is slow, but they are able to do so much that i could never do. testing? certification? sourcing certifiable and documentably high quality materials? not things i can do myself

This thing is not revolutionary like many would have you believe...The BD Bone is the ground breaker and Gordon did it the right way as far as I can see. Prob not gonna make you win all the climbing contests either...

never claimed it to be revolutionary, just a device that i thought overcomes some of the shortcomings of other devices on the market. winning comps is up to you. cheers
 
Boy latly i sure wish I had been duped into investing in this thing. I now realize it's really going to suck when those that did invest get their shiny new toy and I have to wait to order it mainstream possibly deal with it being backordered for ever and stuffs yeah that's gonna blow

I don't compete but I do like playing in trees and ive wanted a mechanical for a while that's how I found this thread ... anyways your akimbo looks to be far enough ahead of everything else that I've waited for it to jump to mechanicals even through the killer sale tree stuff had on the rope runner maybe I'm an idiot but it makes sense in my head..... I'll wait to curse or praise it untill after I tried it out but for now it looks damn good on paper

You will love this new tool. It suits us Iowa fed farm kids. It's adjust ability and adaptability to any rope and any setup are amazing. The center rending is an absolute great addition. With the the new mods that have been employed it's a great handling dude.
 
I just usually find a combo of tool and rope that work and leave it dedicates. My rr goes with 13mm htp, wrench with 11.7 yale, hitchclimber with vortex. So on and so on. I just grab what I'm gonna use that day. Take a single and double set up always.

Could somebody quietly take Uncle Treevet into the other room and find him his favorite shiny button. Again, I apologies he doesn't mean these things. Please continue with the festivities.

On a separate note, I saw the opportunity to fund Jamie and didn't take it...because I didn't have the means to do so. However, I wish I could have given him the $300 and more, not to get the Akimbo early, but to support an individual who has demonstrated, at every turn, that he is a spectacularly genuine and principled fellow climber. He deserves what he gets and more for all the hard work and dedication he has put into this and I can't tolerate the attitude such as Treevet has displayed. More power to you Jamie for so admirably responding to unfounded accusations. Thanks for yet another exciting thing in the climbing universe for me to be thrilled about. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with. Thanks!

X2 for that one... I didn't have the funds at the time, and when I did it was too late... I am very heartened to see the community step up and help out, as quickly as they did!

Steve, this is one of the first sightings of the Akimbo! It's so great! Jamie spends the entire video talking about the quick link and happens to be waving around the AKIMBO and doesn't let on that it is obviously stealing the show. Not really, the quick link ideas he is demonstrating are pretty much brilliant too.

No need to apologize for others. I understand treevets impatience. It is important to hear sentiments like his if only to keep my feet to the fire. I just hope that the over long time line of this project doesn't deter others thinking of taking their ideas the gofundme route
