First time ona black rope wrench or first time ona rope wrench?I just ordered another (black) Rope Wrench and a 24" HRC E2E cord... because @rico says that's what I should use, and who am I to argue with a guy who climbs 250' trees just to have sex with baboons? I think a black hitch tender is required. Might have to spray paint a Shizel Rope Slider until Brocky goes into mass production with his tender.
I'm using a 26" Beeline 8mm cord right now... the 24" cord better work, @rico, or I neuter the baboon and wire his jaws shut.
A 24" e2e, a shorty tether and a Michoacán is the bomb! If you dont like it I will reimburse you for the cost of the e2e, you frugal bastard.I just ordered another (black) Rope Wrench and a 24" HRC E2E cord... because @rico says that's what I should use, and who am I to argue with a guy who climbs 250' trees just to have sex with baboons? That setup looks sweet. I dont know if your used to running a 4 wrap Michoacán but it can be a quick slick mutherfucker when loaded with the down legs directly over the pulley hole. I freaking love it that way, but if its too much flip the hitch 180% and it will bite in quicker and better. Once that HRC is broken in a little you should be rocking a seriously high performance setup with almost no setback.. Plus a black Wrench on that black KM is gonna be pure stealthy sexiness!View attachment 62691
Sorry about the fuzzy pic. Looked fine through the viewer and the bottom of my beer glass. No idea what happened.
Wow. It seems I owe you an apology Brocky. I don't know what could have possible caused me to label you a lunatic? Probably my over consumption of kickass coffee? Anywho, please forgive me. Now carry on with your amazing da Vinci like drawings,

No, it struck me too, immediately when I joined the forum two years ago. Brocky is the da Vinci of the Trees. I have been saving his drawings since then, to compile the Codex da Brock for posterity. So I'm not the only person who thought of da Vinci when first seeing those drawings.
Did you make a winter sweater for you tether?Just for giggles, I tried 28" sewn E2E ArbPro 9mm with Michoacan on the Shorty/KM3 Max setup... works very well. More drag on ascent with the larger cord, but tolerable. I have several of these cords, so nice to know I have backups if I smoke an 8mm cord or it starts to rain (I wet the rope/cord and this combo still grabs well).

What knot or method are you using to form the eyes on the cord that holds the thimble? You can go shorter with the legs when tying the eyes by replacing the pulley with a plastic 1/2” thimble and a small cord with eyes.

Cut a little off the thimble, like the black one below, to make it easier to slip on the rope midline. The cord can be configured a couple different ways.

I've only climbed with it using a michaocan so far with the thimble set just like u did there. It was a 5 over 1 with the same 8mm ocean poly cord used for the distel hitch that comes with the hipstar flex CE lanyard. It's not bad and is much better than just the strap without thimble but I've only climbed on it for a few hours yesterday. It doesn’t work well with a VT hitch. The thimble needs a larger surface area to push against. The Michoacan finish is an example, here is a 3-2 VT with a Michoacan finish.

perhaps post a picture of how you have it set up?
