...Must be something about people who wear those boots.

(Sorry Chris!)

LOL, No problem. It's funny, because when you own and wear a pair of Limmers and then see someone else wearing a pair, all you have to do is nod.

We know who we are!

It's kind of like "Fight Club" only we get to talk about our Limmers.

And mow each other down in parking lots.

We take our Limmers seriously!

You never know who's trying to get them.

Hey Boston,
Thanks for the recommendation. I’m actually heading up that way from CT next week so I plan on checking out peters shop. I’ll let you know how everything goes when I get back.
Ps any last recommendations on specific things when I’m at his shop?
Thanks goodaking

Peter and Ken are top notch guys! They will ask all the right questions and get the perfect boot for you.

Get extra laces and a boot care kit while your there! Not cheap to ship them for some reason? laces were $5 or $7 to ship to MA.

LOOK around while your there, there is so much history in the place, and pictures on every piece of wall from 50 years ago till now.

Good luck!

They had a nice documentary the other night on channel 9 here in NH about Peter Limmer and the history behind the boots. They may have it up on the web soon under NH Chronicles.

Peter has two sons, who may or may not go into the family business. If they don't there's Ken and others who will still run the shop, but I hope the boys go in the trade.

Not only doe there boots look cool, I'd like their "Oxford" & "Walker" shoes for doing bids. I like to dress business casual while doing sales.

So.................

So we could be without custom Limmers from an actual family member who would make them. Not that it matters to me who makes the boots as long as they keep making them.

As you know Bull, our stock Limmers are made in Bavaria to Limmer specs anyways, so I don't see a problem with continuing to be able to get them.

Rumor has it that Peter Limmer is no longer taking orders to custom make the boots in his shop as he is still behind 18 months on the current orders?

Maybe Ken could add some insight to what the future holds.

Just got back to CT. I had an amazing time in the white mountains and have some fine crafted new boots!!!!! Ken was awesome at helping me out.
I’ll fill you all in with more tomorrow just drove five and half hours. Well worth the drive

Ok so back to my trip to get some boots
My wife and I had been talking in the summer to take a trip out to New Hampshire to do some hiking and Snowboarding in February. My wife found this cool bed and breakfast on a farm that looked really cool and was really close to the ski mountain and close to North Conway town center. When she showed me the details of the trip I said this sounds like a cool place to go. They have a lot of different things to do and it seems geared towards the outdoors people. After reading Boston Bulls post about the limmers boots it caught my attention because I was in need of some new foot wear. About a week before we left for our trip I map quested Limmers boot shop and couldn’t believe that it was so close, only two and a half miles away from where we were staying , I thought there was no way we would be able to check this place out on our vacation. So on the way up our first stop was Limmers . when I had spoken to ken he had mention that I should come in before my feet were all beat up from snowboarding. What a cool place when we stepped in the door there were boots all over the place and like Bull was saying lots of history all over the place and on the walls. Ken was telling us about a guy who had climbed Everest with his daughter and on there treck the father lost his daughter to the extremes and got frost bite and had to have his toes amputated. Ken showed me the foot mold of the climber who needed a custom boot made for his shortened foot.
I have never had someone spend so much time fitting me for a boot. When I spoke to ken before we arrived he said allow yourself an hour for us to fit you to your boots. We must of spent two hours in that shop. Ken show me the difference in quality of Mexican cow hide and the difference in the hide they import from Germany. He explained that the Europeans have been green before the rest of the world in that they new how to recycle the tannins from the hides. I hope that Peters son does take over the shop. Because it’s hard to find great quality and craftsmanship these days since everything is mass-produced.
For anyone in question on making the trek, it is well worth planning a getaway out to the White Mountains. There is so much to do in North Conway from mountain climbing ice climbing hiking snowboarding and snow shoeing. We snow shoed the last day and had a blast. We plan on going back in the spring or summer for some more adventure.
I’m breaking these babies in right now and can’t wait to take them for a test run.

Thats awesome!

It would be cool if they made a treebuzz edition

The White Mountains are pratically in my backyard, and I get up into them as often as I can.

What a cool place to live! Have you ever done any mountain climbing out there?

I have never mountained climbed but i definetly have it on my list of things i would like to try.
