New Hikers

Those look mighty nice. But for me, the low cut just means too much junk falling into the boot, even with long pants on. Wish they made a taller model.

gorilla glue is getting my Asolos close to the year and a half mark. im hoping to stretch them to two years. normally I am very lucky to get a boot that lasts 6 months. The Asolos are warm in the winter and with mid weight wool socks they keep my feet dry in the summer. the sole is more gentle on trees than lugs.
those Limmers sure look pretty nice though. I hope they were worth the short "vacation".

Here is a shot of the boots from the side. Notice the uppers are made from ONE piece of leather, and the seam is on the side of the boot.

I like the single upper, but I had Danner's with the same exposed seam for upper and sole. They did not last long with footlocking.

JPS

Can you explain further? Never seen Danners with single leather construction, Italian and german boots are noted for this labor intensive process. Stitched soles fell apart on you? Can you tell me more?

Treat yourself to a pair of Wesco, and you will never look back! they fit different from other boots, so you may want to try them on at TCIA Expo, if not buy em and try em.

Best investment you will make for your feet.

I had a pair, in 1978, cork boots, logging in Eugene, OR. They murdered my feet. You know the area above the heel, the achilles area? Everytime I took a step, that area of the boot dug into my achilles like a mother. The loggers said it was a squeek heel...evertime I took a step, I squeeked...

They wore out in 6 mos. too, completely shot. Although, if I recall correctly, that was about average among the guys for those boots, everybody had em.

So, I'm not saying they're a bad boot, just that I'm not rushing out to get another pair.

I will say that my feet have never huirt as bad as they did when I broke in my Wescos. These limmers are childs play and I have done two 10 hour days in them already. If these were Wesco i'd be crying right now!

I like handmade products, especially boots. I got my first Wesco @ 16years old, and have been faithful ever since. With what we do and expose our footwear to, nothing has lasted more than 12-18 months yet. Wescos last longer with new soles and a rebuild here and there.

No, Limmers come with built in calfskin lines and insoles that are NON removable. If you have low foot volume you can add them to make up for that. The Ultralights have removable footbeds as I understand it.

If you order a pair of customs, you may request that you be able to use superfeet.

Man, the more that I hear about the Limmers, the more that I want to get a pair.

I do a lot of hiking in the White Mountains (when I have time) and never knew Limmers was so close. They're about an hour and a half from my home too.

I'll let you know the next time that I'm heading up there if you want to go up again.

Our winter tree climb this past Feb. was just down the road from there too. Man it was freezing that day! I can show you some very large White pines if you want.

With an 18 month backlog, I'd venture to guess Pedro would not give a hoot about group discounts.

Probably not on custom boots, too much work involved. On the stock boots maybe?

I have been wearing them for a week now. I have one hot spot from climbing in them on friday. Lots of ankle support, stiff soles, and the lug soles are surpisingly grippy. So far so good!
