New Hikers

Hey just giving everyone an up date on my awesome new boots. So I gave them a one day quick brake in walking around the house and the next day I could not resist to show these bad boys off, so i walked around town doing my thing. Third day I tried them for climbing. Man these limmers are comfortable and great support on the spikes. The more I were them the better they feel and the more they brake in. I forgot to mention that ken suggested a pair of the non itch wool socks to go with the boots, so I got two pairs. I couldn’t believe the added comfort. I have been wearing cotton for way to many years.
The only miner thing that I am going to have done to my boot is have the bottom hooks replaced with extra strength D rings. I collapsed a couple of the hooks the other day and asked peter what he thought so he is going to replace the hooks with the D rings and leave the two upper hooks.
I’ll keep you up dated when I get them back.

Bull thanks for starting this thread...I have been looking for a quality pair of climbing boots for a while now and after doing a little research about Limmer I decided that these were the boots for me...I do mostly pruning with about 25% of my work being removals...So today I ordered me a pair of the ultra lights...Ill let everyone know how it turns out as I believe I am the only one on this post to have ordered the ultra lights...Thanks again for all the good info

Congrats on your new limmer purchase! I can’t wait to get mine back from Peter and Ken with the new extra strength D rings. Hoping they will be here tomorrow.

Got my boots back the other day and was glad I got them back so soon. I was working in the rain last week and my chippies were soaked within minutes. It was nice to have my water proof limmers back for the job we had in the wetlands. I was about a half inch from the top of the boot in swamp water and not even a drop of water in the boot. Awesome! It is also nice having the extra strength d-ring in place of the hooks. I have to say they are a little tricky to lace so that they are on tight but well worth it. Boston How do you have your boots set up did you replace the hooks or some of them?

I left mine stock, I keep bending the hooks back everyday after climbing. They arent as waterproof as they were when new, but if I keep them oiled they do well. I used them on snowshoes this winter while doing a land thinning job. Wore them every day for 1.5 weeks dragging brush and cutting, the whole time on snowshoes. I also wore them snowplowing and shoveling this year and I had no regrets.

There in...And boy oh boy am I stoked...

I went back and forth between the standards and these...Being that probably 75% off what I do is pruning and wanting to get double use out of these as backpacking boots(hoping to do a section hike on the AT this summer with Dad).I think I made the right decision. The smartwools BTW are amazing.I have been wearing crappy cotton socks from Kmart my whole life, and man oh man are these nice.I would like to send out a big thank you too Karl for getting me sized up(via a fax) and for answering all my questions and a sorry to Ken Smith for accidentally calling the wrong number and badgering him with questions...Ill keep you all updated on the break in...Thanks again Bull for the help and bringing this great company to every ones attention

Went up to see Pete and ken today. I have noticed that the first 2-3 hooks are getting bent on the rope every time I Foot lock. Brought the boots up @ 8 a.m. went got coffee checked out some awesome mountain climbing shops down the street, and had my boots back and new eyelets installed by 9:00.

Any other boot company and I would have been without my boots for a few weeks, or would have had to roll the dice with a local cobbler.

Once again, Limmer hits a homerun with me!
